Arkansas' "alternative newspaper" the Arkansas Times - also known as "that liberal pinko rag" - has an annual competition for definitions of a "real" Arkie. One year my definition was included...... You're a real Arkie if you've ever bought a used car from a guy named Bubba. I've never bought a used car from a Bubba, but I've bought 2 new cars from one and my Papillon's name is Bubba so I say that counts. But, of course, a "real" Arkie and a redneck are not necessarily synonomous. I do have to admit that they often overlap. I don't mind cruising w/ rednecks though...... they're usually more fun than stuck-up, pretentious .......... well I'm sure you know the word I have in mind!
