Good morning from a very sunny Southern California. The rain prediction has been removed.
Today was magnificent for weather. My DH came home tired, but he and his son spent lots of time correcting computer problems; rather, my SIL corrected the snafus. Keith had to stand a lot today, and that's a problem for him.
I enjoyed driving my "new" car to Newport Beach today. I had a sandwich but not too much shopping before the haircut. So I didn't buy anything. My depression had some affect on the whole experience, unfortunately, but I saw lots of pretty things, some VERY expensive.
This particular mall is a very popular place to walk dogs. And, man, did I see lots of dogs! >VBG> I saw breeds I didn't rcognize. At the salon, I sat next to an older man with his miniature poodle . . .such a sweet dog.
Sunday, we're going to see a figure skating performance.
Happy Sunday everyone... Saturday was gorgeous here ! I went to look @ houses with my mom... even though she has only been in her home 7 months, we think it will be wise to sell it & rebuild it a little different EXACTLY the way she wants rather than putting more $$ into this one. (I bought the house on power of attorney before she ever even saw it last year...she loves it... there are a few things that need changing)
We have been out scouting locations too... now we are just waiting on the builders bid... there is a family who wants to buy her house even though its not officially for sale yet, so we are good in that area. The new house will either be on half or 1 full acre and I am concerned that is too much yard for her... but she doesnt think so ???
Anyway... more open houses today for ideas for the the build...
Good Morning CruiseMates!!! A nice day coming up here in NH's Lakes Region. I went shopping yesterday and looked at formal wear for Patty.Saw some nice things in Dress Barn and J.Jill. We have a huge outlet center here. This is a sales tax free state and they come by the bus loads to shop there. It was crowded there yesterday. Had lunch with my cousin at the 99. It was nice to enjoy a day out. I Won't have time to do that when I start the part time job at the school. Have a great day Mates.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“
Not a headline news from our local newspaper but one that got my attention yesterday:
''CLUBFOOT DUCK RETURNS FOR NINTH STRAIGHT YEAR'', it goe on to say: ''Moncton man amazed bird he feeds reguarly has survived so many migrations. Crushed corn and tender loving care is what it took to befriend a couple of mallard ducks who have been visiting the home of David Arnold for the past nine years -- and they're back``
Yesterday was a gorgeous day, today is not a very nice day on the coast.
Good Morning from a not so sunny Fl.,
It's been a stormy night but we need the rain so I guess it's a good thing. It's off to church and then we are having new flooring put down in our family room. Then that room is done! Yeah. 2 more weeks of school here, graduation is the 17th and counting. Kids are nutso already. Fl kids get out early because we go back early. Been a crazy week. Finally broke down and bought the ultimate mom mobile, minivan. We got a Ford windstar. It's great, has solved the problem so far of "Mom..he's touching me etc"Have a good one.
Good Morning everyone!
It's going to be pretty at least for part of the day. It was supposed to rain but there's not a cloud in the sky as of right now so don't know! As you can tell from my signature--i'm down to DD now!! YEAH!!! I thought that time would NEVER come!! now i'm only 97 days away from pure bliss?? <<VBG>> have a great day!!
Good morning from stormy Florida...we are in a weather alert status and it reminded me of the aweful hurricanes from last year. I was pretty sick friday night and saturday morning but I am over the hump now. The meds are working and I am not hacking as much. Yesterday I took youngest daughter to our new library and the store. She had a haircut and a few new outfits.
Anne we are also looking forward to the end of school here! We are skipping church today and I might take the kids to the movies.Grandpa can watch baby Aiden
Have a wonderful day mates!
2015--- Alaska Cruise separate land trip to Ireland and England !
CruzNut2, are you in PA? I'll never forget the first time I visited my son when he lived in Philly and I bought a jacket and there was NO TAX! I nearly fainted! We visited there several times and loved it..... also western PA. Got to go to church.... DH is tapping his foot.....
Good Morning cruisemates! Still cool weather in Calgary for today, but some improvement promised in the upcoming week. Hoping I can golf by Tuesday.
Nothing on tap today... so I think I'll spend the day relaxed, watching baseball and golf, and my obligatory walk.
Went out for dinner with friends last night. First time dining out while on "Atkins" and I think it worked out pretty well. Though those hot Italian buns certainly were appealing. The ones on the table, not the ones on the waitress <G>
Good morning from Long Island where it is raining and chilly again. The forsythia is in full bloom and the trees are beginning to get leaves and the grass has grown to the point where it needs to be cut. Thought I was gonna get away without having to do that. I'm ready to be outta here.
Sure wish we could get to DDM status on our LIberty cruise. Seems like I've had this one booked forever and it still isn't time yet. Well at least we are one day closer.
Good morning from the SE part of Florida where we haven't had the rain and bad weather. A little cloudy, but nice and warm. Jake and I had our breakfast down at the inlet and then watched the Pelicans catching their own breakfast. I kept trying to see the fish they were going after, but I never saw one. They must have eye sight like eagles.
Last night we joined my brother "Captain Bill" and his wife for dinner, and then went to the tiki bar on the beach ,and sat under the palm trees and had a little glass of wine. Felt a little like being on a cruise.
Have a good one all. Congratulations KM on your double digit status.
Good Morning, We had a few drops of rain and now its cloudy, guess we can't wait on Mother nature to water the garden. Phyll that sounds so nice, you must be really close to the beach. Guess I'll go read the Sunday newspapers. Hope there is some good news in there for a change. Have a good day everyone.
We just returned from Ft. Lauderdale, where it is overcast but no rain. Yesterday we had a beautiful day down there. We took M-I-L to Calder Racetrack-where she broke even for the day.Trevor won a good pot. And, if he'd chosen both horses that I wanted in one race to win, rather than the one with the lower odds, I would have had a good nestegg, as well. We went out for a nice dinner and ended up at the Hard Rock Seminole Casino and Hotel. Now, that's quite a complex!! Trevor lost some of his racetrack winnings to the Texas Holdum table, and MOM and I played quite awhile on the slots. She did quite well and came out ahead. Me, I lost everything dollar I had on me-it was the same type machine-I was sitting next to her!
This morning we said good-bye to MOM and headed down to the beach. However, the Air and Sea Show is in town and there was no parking. Some of the lots wanted $30!!! We ended back at the Best Western Marina Hotel, across from the Princess Terminal, and had a nice breakfast at their associated restaurant. Then we took pictures on the camcorder of the Star Princess across the channel. She leaves today for her Balkan Cruise and will be up your way, Lombard, probably in September sometime. We will be cruising on her the week of Oct. 23. I knew she'd be in port today. Part of my anticipation of going to Ft. Lauderdale is seeing one of the ships we've been on. It just keeps the fantasy going!!
It looks as if it rained here in Avon Park,FL. Our morning newspaper's plastic bag covering was all wet, and there are some puddles around. It's about 80 degrees and overcast. It's nice to see that most of you have had a good weekend.
