Default Run For The Roses! Who's your choice.

Who's your choice for the Kentucky Derby? I'm going with:

1st) Afleet Alex #12
2nd) Bellamy Road #16
3rd) High Fly #11

Bring on the mint juleps baby, this is going to be a good one with 20 horses in the field. The most "exciting 2 minutes in sports."

Regards,
Thomas

I'd like to agree with you, Thomas, after hearing the story of the little girl (Alex) who died from cancer and after whom the horse was named. My heart says "Afleet Alex", but my gut tells me it will be Mr. Steinbrenner's "Bellamy Road".

Both of them are Florida-bred horses, which is somewhat unusual in itself. Those breeders in the Ocala area must be standing proud right about now. Maybe Bellamy Road is due for a fall. Yet after the way he ran at the Wood Memorial, I'll just have to go with him. But I say to AA, who was actually nursed from a sterilized Coors Light bottle, "Go get 'em Alex"!

Jack

Except for having become reasonably inebriated on bourbon at a lovely party at Churchill Downs one evening, I know absolutely nothing about horseracing, so ordinarily these races are a big yawn to me.

However, I am a big baseball fan.

And since I'm for "anybody but the Yankees," I've got to be consistent and be for "anybody but Steinbrenner's nag."

I haven't made my choice yet, but I live in Kentucky so I have my Kentucky Derby #131 glass ready.........but I may put a Margarita in the glass, I don't care for Mint Juleps. Actually wish I was on a cruise enjoying one of Celebrity's delicious pina colada's!
