Can you believe this? I know there is a sprinkler head in the corner of the back yard but it's not popping up. I have dug up the entire corner and can't find a pipe or sprinkler head anywhere. I think someone stole it!!
If they stole it and you turned on the water, you'd have a big stream of water shooting up where it formally was! If you don't see any water, then it probably just isn't popping up. Take another look,,,,I'll bet you find it.

Sensation 04/05 The vessel made me do it!

There seem to be a lot of problems concerning popups these days. Computer popups, yard popups...what next! Even when I've carefully mapped out where all of my sprinkler heads are (fixed & popup), I've had trouble finding some of them when the St. Augustine grass decides to bury them. But I've never heard of both the sprinklers and the attached underground pipes disappearing. Have you noticed a very, very large burrowing animal (I'm thinking 2-foot pipe-eating armadillo) around your property? If not, I'd suggest that you dig some more or rethink where you last saw that rascally popup sprinkler.
The squirrels have dug up my caladiums and the armadillos have dug up my azaleas the moles have created a maze larger than all subway systems worldwide combined but they've never made off with the sprinkler system. Hope it's not catchin'
Sure hope you find it Thomas. That is one of the things I'm not looking forward to. I know we have a sprinkler system in our new house, and I know it isn't working cause one of the sprinkler heads are broken, but have no idea where to even begin to look for any of the sprinkler heads let alone the broken one. Guess it'll be trial and error till we find it.
Thomas... here is a sure fire way to find it !
#1 go to a very expensive store
#2 remove credit card from wallet
#3 buy the most expensive leather shoes in the store
#4 walk around your yard shouting "come out, come out wherever you are"
Another sure fire way to find a "missing"sprinkler head or pipe is to try and dig up something or plant something. I have "found" several sprinkler pipes that way. Pulling up an old dead azalea bush and having the roots come up with a sprinkler pipe intertwined in the roots is a true site to behold!
Then I follow the other posters instructions
#1 call sprinkler company
#2 remove credit card from Wallet
#3 be really glad you've already paid for your cruise
#4 swear that you won't dig up any more old plants!
