I stayed here last Feb. before a cruise and we loved it. We come to Puerto Rico every 2 years and have never stayed here prior to last year. So it was a very nice suprise and the views from our suite balcony room were breath taking!!!!
We have stayed there twice post-cruise, last year and again this year about 3 weeks ago. We really like this hotel, it has two nice pools, a small beach area on the lagoon, restaurants (pricey), and a casino that had live music on the weekend. If your room is on the city side, you can see the ships from the balcony, not too far. This time, we had a balcony on the ocean side, just beautiful view. Taxi from ship to hotel was $15+tip. You can get the bus to Old San Juan right in front for a quarter. Heard there are other restaurants down the street in Condado area but didn't explore. The Caribe Hilton is across the lagoon. It really looks nice, too, more private and away from things. That one has no casino so we have never tried it, wanted something to do at night. Hope this will help you.
CelebrityCruiser, Sorry, I didnt even think about it being a public beach. We used it both times we stayed there and it was fine, we had no problems. Have also stayed in Isla Verde area and used the beach there which is also open to anyone and a much larger beach. Would like to try Caribe Hilton someday, just for variety.
