Default I I was a rich man, ya da da da da da da da

Papa and Gram are going to see Fiddler on the Roof on Thursday night. We are the guests of our daughter and grandaughter (Sabrina). Minskoff Theatre 8 pm.
Sabrina is 6. This will be her 7th Broadway show. There are advantages to living in commuting distance of New York City and this is one of them.
I think I am invited so I will drive into the city, pay for parking and dinner otherwise, it would probably have been a three generation girls night out.
Friday is not a school day for Sabrina so she can sleep in.

Giving kids the gift of live theatre at a young age is, as Tevye would say, a mitzvah.

I was fortunate enough to also live in bedroom New York as a kid, and I received the same gift many times. Now, if I go a month without seeing a play or a musical, I feel our of sorts.

There's absolutely nothing like a live performance, and I feel sorry for those who don't have access to regular nights at the theatre.

I remember seeing Sweeney Todd at the Minskoff with Angela Lansbury.

I will be forever jealous of my husband for his having seen Angela Lansbury in Mame when he was a kid.....have a wonderful night at the theater PapaBill and the girls!

Angela Z., who even though she grew up in NJ just a train ride away still hasn't seen a show on Broadway!

It took me 49 years to see my first Broadway show just this past Easter weekend in NY.
Sabrina is one lucky girl!

What a wonderful way to spend an evening. Maybe it could become a family TRADITION.

Enjoy, from VTJen, who will now be humming Fiddler tunes for the rest of the day.

I saw Fidler on Broadway, when I was about 18.Herchel Bernardi played Tevya...I loved every minute of that play..I sung the songs then, and occaisionally, I still burst into Meiskite, or Sunrise sunset..

Have a great time, PapaB, and try not to tear up when they play "Sunrise, Sunset" as you are sitting next to your daughter and granddaughter!

Cheers,
Michelle P.
