Last month, when we went ashore to the Margarita Complex in Ocho Rios, Jamaica,
we were given a spiel to fill out a ticket to win a ''Welcome back to the Caribbean 7-day vacation.``
The phone call came in this week, ''Did you fill out a ticket in Magaritaville?'', my reply was an immediate ''YES''
''You have been selected for a 8-day, 7 night free vacation in Antigue or Grand Cayman plus that's not all. You also will receive a 7-night 6-day vacation in Florida for only $518.00 US'' . I'm a Canadian so they allways indicate US funds.
My reply, ''If I won these wonderfull 5-star vacations, why do I have to pay?``
The deal still sounded good, so I said, ''Send me the vouchers and I'll send you a cheque''.. Their reply: ``We can only accept MasterCard, Visa or America Express'', my reply was: ''This conversation is over and have nice day'' and hung up.
Has anybody else received any $518.00 free ``Come back to Caribbean'' vacation??
Bill the latest thing is the word "Free" isn't free anymore. It's more like buy this and then you get something free!!! What a bunch of !@#@$
And yes I have gotten those calls telling me I won a "Free" trip or cruise. I never fall for it and I never fill out forms to win something.
2015--- Alaska Cruise separate land trip to Ireland and England !
Years ago we had neighbors that must have been on every sucker list, they won a "boat", turned out to be a little pontoon blowup. A few years later they won a motorcycle, turned out to be a little childs plastic motorcycle. Can't remember the costs, but it was around the $500. mark. As the saying goes there is a sucker born every minute. I always say, if it sounds to good to be true its not true.
