Default Orange boat/ ship?/ easy cruise

In the past Sunday travel section of the LA times was an article about a low cost cruise visiting the French and Italian riveara.

The ship is orange and has easycruise printed on the side (wonder what else is easy). The stateroom and other areas are also orange. OK they do mix some other colors.

The ship/ boat is 290 ft long. The cabins 86 of them range from 107 sq ft to 258 sq ft. A quad is 161 sq ft. Only 4 balcony cabins, most are the small cabins.
Meals and beverages are NOT included. The minimum cruise length is 2 days but does do 7 day cruises.
It is geared to people in their 20's, 30's and 40's (leaves me out). Minimum age 18 and they are not sticking to the upper age limit, just need to be young at heart.

A 7 day cruise in a suite (258 sq ft) with veranda is $1750.00 USD for two people all charges as port and tax included.

If you go to their web site (easycruise.com) you too will be able to see this BOAT yourself.
For me .. I'll stick with the cruise lines we have sailed before. Plus I'm not sure I want to be seen on an ORANGE SHIP ...
Kind of reminds me of the color of a life boat.

BTW, all the menus (food & beverages) are listed in the currency of the cruise line.

This is not an advertisment, just want to see your reactions to this cruise line
Ciao for now.

Like this? The ports of call have no interest for me.

I'm not sure if I am correct or not but I think you can get on and off at will (with restrictions), so is partially a good idea.

The owner ("Stelios") also runs easy jet in the UK. He also has quite a few other "easy" companies on the boil www.easy.com?

Sorry if this is against TOS but "Stelios" is a very interesting character.

Lombard, you are correct. You can book the cruise to get off at will and end the cruise, 2 day minimum cruise.

Still will stick with the known cruise lines and have my meals included. There is something about floating around in a 290 foot orange life boat that bothers me.
Which reminds me, are the life vests orange?? They might mistake me for a TENDER.

Is this the guy who invented "EASY" OFF OVEN CLEANER ... ROFLMAO

Yes Y2C,

Stellos is very big business here in the UK. He started off with Easyjet where UK citizens can travel to many major European cities for as little as 10.00. It is known as the 'no frills' airline here. When you can travel to Rome from London for 20.00 return with no food etc, this is a great bargain compared to paying British Airways fares of say circa 250.00 for the same trip. the only difference being better service, food and drink, but when the flight duration is only approx. 2-3 hours, it is no big deal.

He has also opened Intenet Cafes here which are hugely popular with the teenage/student sector and has now started Easycruise on the same theme, i.e. no frills cruiseline but each night will only cost you 25.00. Obviusly for those that want to visit St. Tropez, Cannes etc it is very cheap. Drawbacks are it will become the 'booze cruise' as it is aimed at the younger market and sets sail each morning at 04.00a.m.

It is not for me but I can certainly see how it will take off big time with the younger set who just want to party all night but visit different ports of call.

He is very clever business man and is giving the public (albeit younger) what they want at a price they can afford.

Hope this clarifies Easycruise a little more clearer for you.

Kind regards,
KG

You're right, it looks like a large life boat!
Thanks for the clarification KG.

Not for me, either. I read the article in the L.A.Times as well. Stelios is very clever.
