Most people, cruise lines, TAs etc. recommend that you do not book your air for earlier than 1pm.

Melissa

I would book late in the day. We cruised the last week of April and there was a problem getting into the channel. We were supposed to dock at 8:00 am, but didn't dock until around noon. It was almost 1:30 before the ship cleared customs. We had a 4:00 p.m. flight so we were fine. There were a lot of people on our ship who missed flights and then couldn't get home that day (it was a Sunday). Some people that were sitting around us were able to get flights the next day, but most of them were Tuesday, and some even Wednesday. From what I understand this can be a problem if there is bad weather and fog. There is no way to predict whether it would happen to you or not. I'm cruising again in August and have booked a late flight due to this. Both the Tampa Aquariam and Busch Gardens have facilities to hold your luggage. We'll spend the day doing something in Tampa rather than take a chance of a missed flight.
