Default For Lombard (US Open)

Hey Liam:

Congratulations are in order to your fellow countryman, Michael Campbell, for winning the US Open. What a exciting win.

Bill. Its about time. He is getting old/er.

I didn't watch the final holes as I was at work and thought he would choke.

PS The last major tournament won by a Kiwi was Bob Charles at the British open in 1963 which was a year before I was even born!

Congrats to Michael!! He held up to Tiger's charge......and was the only to be even par for the tournament. No one broke par at the end of the tourney.

I saw the final holes and Tiger missed an important put for par on I believe the 17th hole. Mr. Campbell went on to make his par and was 3 shots ahead going to the 18th. He had room to waste a stroke, but he was the definite winner by then. It's great when dreams come true!! Lynne
PS. I'm sure my relatives in Nz are just as proud!

I've played that course BigJohn, back when I was playing golf a lot and playing in a lot of tournaments (not PGA).

I scored 2 under par and thought I could have even done better.

However, I should point out that I consider 6 lost balls an even par score. I only lost 4 so I was 2 under!

Regards,
Thomas
