Kuki.. need your help!

Hey Kuki,
I address this to you but any Albertians(?) please feel free to join in. Next summer we are looking at flying into Calgary and going to Banff and Jasper. Need some recommendations on kid friendly things to do in Calgary. Also, any and all recommendations on must see's etc. Kids will be 7 and 12. Also, how is the traffic (motor and tourist) out there the end of May and beginning of June?

Hi Anne... everyone, including kids, will enjoy a trip to Calgary and the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The key that time of year will be the weather. You could encounter anything from mid 70s to snow. As long as it's not snowing, traffic won't be bad, so no real concern there <G>

Calgary has a wonderful zoo, and there's a historical style park called Heritage Park, with old restored carnival rides and buildings that the kids would love. There's also a nice science center with a hands on area for kids.

An hour drive from here to the Canadian Rockies, and Banff/Lake Louise area. Gorgeous scenery, and lots of trails and wildlife areas to visit.

And, of course, I'm here, so you'd have to call and say hello, and come visit!

Kuki, how could you forget to tell her about the Calgary Stampede? If she'll be there in the summer, she'll just have to pick the right week and take the kids to the stampede! What better fun for 2 boys than a rodeo, a parade and rootin' tootin' cowboys?
Come to think of it, maybe I should visit during Stampede too! We can all meet for dinner at Kuki's hotel!

Yeah, the pirates of the caribbean want to go see snow so we figured that would be a great trip. I think the stampede is in July or Aug and that doesn't work unfortunately as school starts end of July for me. Great ideas! Definately need a hands on place after flying in from Fl. Looks like my parents may join us too! We are all doing the western caribbean in Nov so that's why no cruise next summer. What's the deal on the hot springs?
