I went to the message board tricks at the bottom of this page and copied and pasted it into a new message and then changed the dates to our sailing.
But I noticed it didn't work on a message I just posted to about the hidden gems of your area. Oh well, we're still going on the cruise whether it posts or not!

Rod,

Make sure you are logged in. If you see "Log In" at the top of a thread click it and log in.

Go to the bottom of the thread and click on "My Profile" then click on "Edit My Profile" and insert the charcter string below. Make sure you INCLUDE the brackets. Then change the numbers of month, date, and year to correspond to your cruise. Also change the name of the ship.

[img[img][/img]]http://www.cruisemates.com/countdown.php?month=02&year=2005&day=04&hour=16:00[/img[img][/img]] My Cruiseship

Take care,
Mike

Mike,

I just posted this on another board. While your instructions are good for people who know what they are doing with computers, some of us (me!) need more detailed instructions. It took me 3 days the first time to finally get mine to work! If I've made any mistakes, please let me know. Or edit it for me

"First make sure you are logged in. (Your name, E-mail, and Subject should appear in the "Reply to This Message" box.) Sometimes your login "disappears" for no apparent reason!

Then click "My Profile", at the bottom of the messages on this thread. Click "Edit Profile" above your name. When you get there, scroll down to "Message Board Tricks".

Find the countdown clock and copy and paste it ALL (be sure to get the brackets at the beginning and end) into your signature space. You can also put in your name and the ships you've sailed in the signature space above your clock, like I did.

Change the dates to your sailing date. For example, I changed mine to read month, "12", year, "2005", date, "18", time, "18:00", for December 18, 2005, 6 PM, and typed NCL Sun after the last bracket.

Click "Update" and come back and post again and see if it works!

Good luck!"

Fern,

It would be better to go to Message Board Tricks first and copy the countdown clock and then paste it into the signature instead of doing it once you are editing your signature, unless you are going to open two browsers.

The format I had in my post is the full format of the countdown clock.

I think the best thing to do is just go to Message Board Tricks.

Take care,
Mike

Mike,

I guess my computer works differently. I didn't have two browsers open. Maybe I took the "long way around"! I don't know how to get to "My Signature" without first going to "Edit My Profile".

But something worked, as we can see

I am definately "cyberspacically " challenged, just like Anne. I can turn the computer on, read my E-mail, and find Cruisemates. All the important things!

Thanks,
