Frozen Thingees

Ok gang,
As most of us are sweltering in these wonderful days of summer, turn your minds to thoughts of "Frozen Thingees" What are your favorites? My DH and I like our Margaritas with extra lime, no salt. The kids like the virgin Pina Coladas w/ chunks of pineapple.

I have a new favorite a no-sugar added margarita:

2 cups of flat diet Mountain Dew
1/4 cup lime juice
2 packets of Splenda
ice to fill blender

You can add your favorite tequila or drink it virgin.

I'm a margarita fan! Your version sounds good Doug, I'm going to try it! Of course, not the virgin variety! :-) Thanks!

If it must be a frozen thingee then Pina Colada. The best on the face of the earth are made at Mad Dogs, Virgin Gorda in the BVI's just off the parking lot at the top of the Baths.

I'm the Pina Colada girl. I didn't drink before my cruise, but this thing was great. I found the stuff to make it at home, and my husband made me one, one night. I closed my eyes, rocked back and forth in the chair while drinking it, and my husband made engine noises in the background. I cruised in the livingroom. lol

My all-time fave, year round, is a gin and tonic. Keith cannot have alcoholic beverages, but he likes Martinelli's apple cider and Sharp's non-alcoholic beer.

My standard drink is Absolut Mandarin and club soda. Since I have to watch sugar intake I'd hate to blow it on a drink.....but wait.....maybe a nice chocolate martini! But have given up on the frozen thingees (sadly)

My girlfriend and I have been enjoying "Hot Chocolate Monkeys" since last winter (hot chocolate spiked with Banana Liquer, topped with whipped cream). The last time we had them, it was too hot for hot chocolate, so she decided to try making it with chocolate ice cream in a blender. Haven't tried it yet myself, but I'm sure our "Frozen Chocolate Monkey" will be great!

Re: Frozen Thingees

No, it doesn't have to be alcholic. Some of the best ones don't have alcohol in them Another one that the kids like is peanut butter, frozen bananas and chocolate ice cream. Sounds nasty but tastes great
