Default Cruise ships aids in rescue at sea

It was on the news last night. The Explorer of the Seas aided the Coast Guard with a rescue off Nassau. Seems this man had been missing for 2 days, they brought him aboard to receive immediate medical attention(if needed) and then sailed into Nassau.

If I was lost at sea I think being rescued by a cruise ship would be the way to go. A little check up by the ship's doctor, then a massage in the spa, dinner in the dining room, a show, a couple of drinks in the lounge and then a good nights sleep in the cabin. That's if I still had my American Express card tucked in my tattered pants. <VBG>

Seriously: I'm glad the person was rescued and kudos to the crew of the Explorer of the Seas.

Take care,
Mike

Cute, Mike. I agree, that's the way to be rescued. I'm glad this story had a happy ending too.

That man worked for Royal Caribbean, I believe on Labadee - that's their island isn't it? Well, it seems him and a handful of his buddies got bored. (There were no ships in Labadee that day). They went out on the skidoos trying to make it to the next island, which apparently was a lot farther than they thought. Well ding-dong got separated from his buddies and the result was the above rescue. Kind of ironic that it was an RCI ship that rescued him! :-)

Wonder what RCI will do to him and his buddies for breaking the rules? (they are not supposed to use the passengers toys apparently)

Cathy

Sorry I think the island was Half Moon Cay.
