Rollerdonna's post about the woman not knowing the name of the ship she was going to be sailing on, started me thinking. (Always a dangerous thing.)
I was thinking that it would be great if someone put a blindfold on me and walked me onto a cruiseship and took it off. From that point it was up to me to just kick back and have a great time. Would it really matter what ship I was on or where I was going? I would find out soon enough. If I had my credit card and passport in my pocket I'd be set to go.
Now that would be fun.
Oh yeah: I'd have to have my wife with me too. I might take her blindfold off after a day or two. <VBG>
Wouldn't you folks love to something like that?

I'm a klutz, so a blind fold on, I would probably fall face first on the ship. I know what Rollerdonna ment. It is a surprise that people don't know the name of there ship. What's the most important thing, is to get on that ship. What a feeling, especially that first time.
I guess I'm just a fussbudget. You can blindfold me and put me on a cruise ship, BUT:
If you blindfold Keith, he must have an escort for all of the time he is blindfolded,
because he haas balance problems.
The ship must be a really nifty one, not too big not too little.
I want a balcony cabin.
Advance notice so I know what kind of clothing to pack.
We could always make it a nudist cruise, then we wouldn't have to pack. (Wouldn't have to worry about gaining weight either. All that ,fat, celluite and those wrinkles would definately make me lose my appetite.) Of course it would cost a lot more for sun screen. And it would give new meaning to "hang in there"

No kidding....my husband finds himself in this situation every time we cruise. He sees me getting my cruise clothes ready and he says to me "well, where are we going this time?" I more or less just point him in the right direction and off we go.
Now before someone says "well I can see who wears the pants in this family" and I DO...but nonetheless, I have a husband who enjoys vacations but lets me plan everything and then when I've got everything arranged and paid for, he'll start wondering where we're going. Boy the suspense would get to me if this situation was the other way around.
I can't tell you how many times I've commented that we're going on a cruise, and someone will say "where are you going?" I reply, "I don't know", and I honestly don't. I just couldn't care less, and frankly, to a point, I don't care which ship either. I just enjoy the cruise, and out of over 100 cruises, I can only think of one that was truly a bummer. The others were all good to excellent, and the ports were very good,,,,,the first few times,,,,but they all look great from the deck of the ship while the lovely Mrs. Jones and I have the whole ship to ourselves and everyone else is ashore..
See you aboard,
After reading your post I turned to my DH and asked him where we were going on our cruise. He said the Panama Canal. Not even close! (Well, we ARE cruising south of New Orleans!) When I told him "no" he didn't even ask where we were going.
He does know we leave from New Orleans. Guess he'll just be surprised when we get to the ports!
I also don't really care where I go as long as I'm cruising, but I do like to know the ports. And over 100 cruises-I should live so long! You must have taken your first cruise as a baby! I'd sure like to "see you aboard" with the lovely Mrs. Jones sometime. You must have some great cruise stories.

Hi Fern and Buddy.
I started cruising when I moved to Florida in 1966. We do 3 or 4 a year now, and enjoy every one we go on, without exception!! In the early days, we did do a lot of 3 and 4 day cruises, as well as some of the longer ones, but the bottom line is that we really enjoy cruising, and have for a long long time. As far as storys,,,,,yep,,,,we do indeed have a few. Sometimes things will happen, or be mentioned on this site that will remind us of "strange things that happened" on the old "Emerald Seas", or "Flavia", or one of the other old time ships. We'd love to see you aboard, and probably will eventually. Let's see,,,,for the remainder of this year, we have the "Caribbean Princess" on October 22nd, and the "Legend of the Seas" on December 10th. Come along!!
See you aboard
