Default Computer Experts, I need help!

OK, I am back online, but I have a strange problem. My fixed computer has turned French on me and keeps giving me things like this: , , , , ^^, instead of an apostrophe, a question mark, a slash, a bracket, or a fancy bracket. I have no idea how to get rid of them and get back to normal, just as when I once needed a () but did not know where to find it!
Can anyone enlighten me (that was supposed to be a question mark!!!)

I think it has to do with the setup and what language usage you want your computer to use, but you better get someone smarter than me to help you.

Donna.. I am FAR from computer literate.. but try this (assuming you use Windows)
click Start, then Control Panel, then along the right you should see Date, Time, Language.. etc.
Click on that, and see what your language is set at. Try English (United States) setting.

Do what Kuki said (Start, Control Panel) if you have Windows XP and it should be under "Regional and Language Options".

Set it for "US English". It seems you have a French Canadian Computer. :-) That isn't so bad.

Take care,
Mike

Lets try English U.S. Yep, thats what I thought, still French. I think the OLF (Office de la Langue Francais) has gone too far, they have taken all the English signs off my computer!!

Try this: Also make sure at the bottom of Regional Settings, that Location is also set to U.S.
Check Languages - Details -Settings : English (United States) then in installed services, scroll down to keyboard and see if U.S. is in there, if not ADD it.

Then click on Advanced and make sure that English (United States) is also selected.
Here are the basics depending on your OS.

International keyboard (Win XP)

1. Open your Control Panel (via Start menu or My Computer)
2. Double click Regional and Language Options
3. Click Languages
4. Click Details
5. Click Add

6. Pick English (United States - International)

International keyboard (Win 95, 98, ME, NT)

1. Open your Control Panel (via Start menu or My Computer)
2. Double click Keyboard
3. Click Language
4. Click Properties, Settings, or Details (whichever you see)
5. Click Add

6. Pick English (International or United States International)
7. Continue as above.

International keyboard (Win 2000)

1. Open your Control Panel (via Start menu or My Computer)
2. Double click Keyboard
3. Click Input Locales
4. Click Change
5. Click Add

6. Pick English International or United States International
7. Continue as above.
