Many of you remember last month (yes, last month) when I said I was going back to school to get my MBA. Well, took my first final this past Monday nigtht - yes, just 8 weeks later - and begin my next class on Tuesday of next week. This cramming an entire semester into 8 weeks is tough - there are no mid-term exams where you are tested on the first half of the material, just the final which is for the entire course....not fun.
Having been out of school since 2000, it was difficult for me to get into it, but I think I made it through and hopefully next session (Marketing Management) won't be as tough as the first one (Business Law).
I actually took last monday as a sick day to study for the exam that night - is that a bad thing??? I am sure I will do it for each final, so I know my bosses will know what I am doing, but at least I am working towards a better education....and it is costing me an arm and a leg - now it boils down to either buying gas or paying for school....
You don't know me, but I just had to respond........I don't know how you do it! That kind of schedule would be the end of me. But it sounds like you're making a great foundation for your future. I'm 57 and wish I had had a chance to do something like you're doing. I love my kids dearly, but there are times when I wish I could have had a career. Good luck in your educational endeavors!!
Don't let anything hold you back - I will be 38 this year, and realized that this really is what I wanted to do. I am doing it for me! It is never to late to reach for your dreams...if you want it, you will make it work.
Best of luck with your studies, Jodi. It looks to me that you're heading in the right direction. As long as your career path and your cruising plans don't clash, you'll be okay! <BG> See you on the 9th.
Hang in there,,,it'll all pay off in the future. My oldest daughter just finished her Masters, and now is working toward her Doctorate! She will be 41 in a few days! Our younger daughter is an R.N, and she too has just gone back to school, working towards the Masters,,,sooooo,,,it's never too late! I'm really proud of both our "kids", and know it is very difficult for them at this time in their lives, but know also that it'll pay off "big time" in the future, as it will for you! Congratulations!
