Default Bad News, Bad News, and Good News.

I got some very bad news this week. First, they announced on Thursday that they were going to close my office and move us to either Indianapolis, IN, Columbus, OH, Cleveland, OH, Rome, NY or Limestone, ME. For me, it looks like Cleveland or Indianapolis are the most likely two for them to move my job.

Later that evening, our deputy director's son and stepdaughter's boyfriend were shot and killed at his home by a former co-worker. It appears that the motive was revenge. This occured just after he got back from the hospital where his wife was in surgery. This shook us up pretty good, which didn't help with the closure announcement.

But I do have some good news. My new girlfriend indicated she was willing to relocate with me. I guess this is deadly serious in her eyes. She was even angaling for a ring for Christmas, but I let her down easy saying I wanted to date at least a year before I started thinking about popping any questions. Fortunately, it looks like I will get that year to make my decisions.

Oh Tom,
What a day you had, so sorry to hear all your news. Do let us know where you will end up, at least you will still have your job, just at a different location.

Hang in there!

Good luck and God bless you. I hope that your move will be a good one. it looks like your girl friend really cares for you if she is willing to move with you and also wait for a year. You are doing the wise thing on waiting and not jumping into a life long relationship too fast. Our prayers are for a happy outcome.

Geez, I thought I'd had a bad week! Sorry to hear about the job and the tragedy, life sucks sometimes doesn't it?
Glad to hear that your girlfriend is willing to wait and relocate, and I think you're making a good decision to wait a year. Hope we will be of a honeymoon wedding being planned about a year from now!

Indianapolis get's my vote. Very affordable living conditions there and not a bad place to live.

Good luck to you Tom, is she going to be giving up a career position herself?

Regards,
Thomas

Thinking of you, that was a week from ****! Does sound like something good can come from the move and I think I would opt for Indianapolis, too!

Sorry to hear all of the bad news Tom, but that's real good news about the GF. Looks like she's a keeper. <G> And about your relocation choices, I've been to Rome, NY and that would not be one of my picks either. <VBG> Good luck!

Tom, sorry about your week. An upheaval in one's life such as a relocation is stressful. I am from the midwest, and I know it's less expensive to live there. The only bad thing about Indiana or Ohio is the weather.

I agree with the others about waiting a year to pop the question.

Best of luck to you in your endeavors.

Judy

My prayers for you for peace and comfort for you, your co workers and the family of your deputy director and his family and friends. Taken into perspective, I would imagine it makes to notice of a move a small inconvience comparatively. I hope you take comfort in the verse below, which is the signature for all my e:mails.
Sincerely
Susan

Good luck, Tom. A friend of mine lived in Indianapolis and really liked it there.

Good decision to wait a year.

How horrible for the family. What a senseless way to die.

Columbus is a great place to live--but I would not want to vacation here.

Good luck Tom. Too bad none of your relocation destinations are cruise ports, but at least they have airports. At least the girlfriend news is good. Good luck with these decisions!

Cheers,
Michelle P.
