Sabrina Kicked Butt

Sabrina (6) went to her first overnight Karate tournament with her dad Friday night and Saturday. They headed up Route 17 to Binghamton NY
(almost to Fast Eddie territory). She competed in forms and sparring and took first place in both. The highlight was a 10 point to 3 win in the sparring finals over an opponent a full belt level above her.
The karate is wonderful for her to learn respect for others, self discipline and self confidence. The competitions and her sucess in them are just a little bonus.
There is a national championship competition next August in San Diego and we are trying to plan a family vacation around it. We started a savings
account for the trip and have $1700 in it and have enough Amex points already to get 3 of the six of us there. We're looking at combining her one day of competition with 4 or 5 days of San Diego Zoo, Wildlife Park, Legoland, Sea World , Disney land, Balboa Park, Old Town, beaches, etc.
The bonus for today was Andrea (our youngest daughter) showing up and spending a whole quiet day here with Madelyn (11 weeks). Plus our son in law was promoted to a managing director at KPMG so we celebrated at a small local restaurant. Madelyn was an angel.

SDiego is a great place for a family vacation!! May I recommend a lovely beach?-Coronado Beach around the Del Coronado Hotel area is heavenly!! Don't forget the sandcastle bucket&shovel!! Also had a good margarita at Miguels which is within walking distance of the beach-good food too!!
