Default Stateroom on the bow

Has anybody ever been in a stateroom located at the bow on one of the highest deck of the ship?

We're looking at a southern Carribean cruise in February and not expecting rough waters.

Any thoughts on pros & cons?

We happen to like the balcony on the stern (back)of the ship. You can watch the ships wake, and some beautiful view of ports left behind.
the bow is tapered in making it smaller. Also, you will hear the anchor being dropped, if the ship has to be tendered.
Maybe someone else like the bow, but I don't.
On HAL the aft pool and lido are right near by, not a lot of walking.

Generally speaking, I agree with trekker, however both the stern and bow have their advantages, and disadvantages. I've had stern cabins where there was considerable noise from the props and associated machinery. As Trekker stated, the bow can be noisy in port, especially when the anchor is dropped, and retrieved, and the view generally isn't as good. (also the trek from the bow to the dining room, which is usually midships, or near the stern can be long, depending on the size of the ship). In any case, they can both be good, or not as good, depending on what you like, and which ship you're on.
