Default More prayers needed

Well, folks, it hasn't been a good year so far...my mother passed away in February of this year, although we were very thankful to be there with her at the time of her passing...and I appreciate all of the nice notes from my Cruisemates friends...

Now it seems my sister's husband has Hepatitis....they haven't been married very long and he is a sweet & loving husband and a wonderful stepfather to her 2 kids. His liver is showing a lot of damage, no symptoms tho (he found out only after attempting to donate blood), unfortunately this may be a costly disease to treat for him...

Also, our sweet 11 year old doggie Honey has been diagnosed with cancer. Thank God she is feeling just fine, still gets excited when I take her leash out of the closet, but she has to have exploratory surgery this Friday. We hope & pray it's operable, and that she will be back to us soon as healthy as can be...

Thanks again for all of the caring and support during my difficult times.. so wonderful to have such caring unseen friends....

Oh Jean, hope things soon improve for you.

Have some idea of what you are going through as I lost my father in August last year and a fortnight later we had to have our elderly cat put to sleep.

Hope you have good news tomorrow.

JeanS...

Which hep? a b or c. C is the worst. Lost my Dad from that this year. I am now an active member of the American liver foundation, Michigan chapter. The stats of people infected are stagering. Most don't know they have it like your son in law. Trust me if you haven't heard of hepC yet, you soon will. The numbers are worst then Aides.

I learned a lot through my Dad's ordeal. Doc's still made mistakes, that I believe cost him his life premature.

Email me if you have any questions. I know sources for answers if I can't answer myself. But let me give you this much now: DO NOT take NO for an answer. This is a very serious disease.

I feel for you. And truely send my best wishes.

Keep us informed.

Jeanne, I haven't had such a good year myself, so I know how you feel.
My prayers go out to your brother-in-law, for the best treatment available.
Good luck also with your dog's surgery. Been there, done that too, and it is SO hard, it's like seeing one of your children in pain. "Honey" is a beautiful name, what breed is she?

Prayers for you and your family. My Dad has HepC too and had it for 40+ years. Didn't know it till they started screening blood donors. Scary that he had given blood for many years and had it. But nobody got it from him in the family and he is healthy and 69 years old now. He keeps himself on a very healthy diet - straying only when he comes to my house - and is doing very well. They chose not to do all the medicine treatment as it was very harsh and he is older. They are now touring the Grand Tetons and Montana and Wyoming and have been all over the country and have more energy than I do... There is hope. Debbie

Thanks for all of the kind responses, I know I can always count on my unseen friends here...

My bro in law has Hepatitis C, they are going to find out more this week, so we're keeping our fingers crossed! Thanks for the info on your Dad, Debbie, that is nice to hear and I passed it on to my sister.

Our Honey dog is a sweet German Shepherd. We've had her since she was a puppy, a gift from my husband which he put in our wedding vows! Thank goodness she is feeling fine and seems to have no other health problems, heart and lungs are good, so we're crossing our fingers for her too! We'll know more tomorrow after the surgery...

Thanks again to everyone...it helps.

Sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. I hope they can treat him so he is as 'healthy' as HappyCamper(Debbie)'s Dad.
Sorry to hear about your pet too.
Take care. Brenda

Jean please know you and your loved ones are in my thoughts and prayers. A dear man from our church contracted hep c a few years ago. He had to undergo lots of treatment, but is now in fine health and enjoying life, now his wife is living thru the nightmare of breast cancer.

Praying for Honey, too.

Thank you all so much for your good wishes. Her surgery will be later this afternoon, and we're hoping she will get to come home to us, otherwise she will be at a 24 hour care facility for probably a day. I've been working nights, so I'm ready to stay up with our precious doggie if need be!

Thank you again to all of my unseen good friends...........I hope to have some good news later today...

It is with a heavy heart that I type this. Unfortunately Honey's cancer has spread all throughout her intestines, and to put her thru surgery would be cruel.

So we will be picking her up in a couple of hours to bring her home. The vet said just to watch for when she stops eating and we will know that it's time to let her go. It will be the hardest decision for my husband and myself to make, but we are also thankful to know that she will be spared any suffering. We should be as kind to humans! We had 11 wonderful years with one of the most sweetest dogs you would ever know.

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes and prayers. Ours weren't all answered, but we have a lot to be thankful for, mostly that she is in a loving home, and she won't suffer.

Thank God she is still feeling well and still loves to go for walks. They drained about 3 gallons of fluid from her, so she should be even more comfortable when she comes home. I'll be staying home from work tonight and making sure she is okay.

Thank you again...your wishes and thoughts mean so much....
