Do you bring your own lap blanket & pillow on planes, or do you bring your own? I for one get quite cold onboard, so I bring a small, very thin fleece blanket, so it can be folded small, with not much weight at all...I have a travel u shaped neck pillow, that you can blow up, in a few puffs. I carry this duo, on the plane, for easy access. I gave up using the airline pillow years ago..bringing my own, assures I get both, when I want them, and I know where they have been.

Trip, with her book & tea!

No Trip, I haven't done that , but after my last plane and train trip, I decided it might be a very good idea, because I get cold easily, and always need a blanket. And since I'm usually zonked out on anti-motion sickness pills, a pillow would be nice too!

I usually just use the ones the airlilnes have onboard, however on the flight to Rome I will be bringing my own pillow. Don't like those neck things, will bring my down feather pillow. It squishes.

As for a blanket I'll just grab one of the airline ones as we get on. Since 'da Coot' is O2 dependent, we board first and I'm sure there will be a blanket available.

I never did bring my own pillow or blanket until this last transatlantic flight. The thought of what kind of germs are lurking on those airplane pillows... ewww!

So this time I bought a $9.99 microbead-filled pillow at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. It was perfect!

After freezing my way home from Chicago in July I have vowed that I will always bring a small fleece blanket with me. We flew Spirit on that trip and they didn't have any blankets. I'm flying to San Francisco in November to meet my sister for a sisters weekend so I'll definitely have my orange fleece. Yes, orange...yuck....it was a fundraiser for the band. I'll be easy to spot!

I have never brought a blanket, but I did use one of those U-shaped things. I thought it was a nuisance. On an overnighter, I just use an airline blanket. That way, there's less to carry, pack, and keep track of.
