Default Good Thursday Morning, Friends!

Good morning all! It is a much cooler day in the "Burgh", only in the low 40's right now. Looks like Fall has FINALLY arrived. It is supposed to be a very rainy weekend. I hope all you folks in the path of Wilma will be safe. Still very busy at work...don't see any light at the end of the tunnel. Have a great day!

Good Morning! This morning a case of "bus rage". Our bus makes 3 stops on the way to NYC. By the time it reaches the last stop 90% of the passengers, including me, are peacefully sleeping. At the last stop a lady got on and asked for the reading lights to be turned on. She was told they did not work. She then started loudly complaining in a very shrill voice and demanding that the driver call the terminal and get our bus replaced. Quite a few formerly sleeping commuters got very abusive in colorful langauge that was never taught in Miss Smiths 2nd grade English lessons. I was in the seat behind her and when she screamed (literally) "How am I supposed to read my newspaper?" I yelled back (shame on me ) "Tom DeLay is going to jail, Hurricane Wilma is headed to Fla, the Astros are in the World Series and that is the latest news now shut up so we all can sleep." I got an ovation from my fellow commuters. About 30 minutes later she flipped me the bird as I got off the bus. Glad she is not a regular.

Saw a street person begging in lower Manhattan yesterday afternoon. Instead of the usual sign proclaiming that he was hungry and homeless and asking please help his sign said "Nicole Kidman won't date me becuase I have no money." I usually pass these guys by but this time I dropped my spare coins in his cup, he deserved it for originality.

Everyone have a great day!!!

Mornin' everybody,

ML, you must have a heat wave going on down there in PA. It's 34F in upstate NY right now. Brrrr!

DW has been on the phone the last 5 days with the insurance co. and her HR dept, and finally they have seen the error of their ways. Unfortunately, the other person in her dept.(other than the boss) is going to have surgery Nov. 7. So the earliest DW will get in will be the 3rd week of Nov. We'll have to wait and see what the surgeon's schedule is like.

Since the cold has zapped the plants, it's time to get the Halloween decorations out. Right after I get a haircut.

Have a great day!

Ed

Good morning all cm's.
Watching the west carrib for Wilma to make a turn. I have a bad feeling about this one. scarry and its not Halloween yet. the full moon was so beautiful last night and this morning it is humid & quiet. I noticed that the days are shorter now.
got another order for a scrapbook, a high risk pregnancy mom who can't leave home so I'm working with her at her place. I love my work, especially new babys.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all. My kids are already on their way to the Orlando airport to catch their flight. The flight doesn't leave until 10:20 am but we figured traffic will be heavy and parking at the aiport at a premium. Looks like now Wilma is expected to hit Florida (west coast) late Sunday pm. Their return flight is for Monday at 3:30 pm. We'll have to wait and see.

Doug--you should keep a diary of your morning adventures for a book.

Eddie--hope everything works out for your wife

Angela--when are you coming?????

Hope everyone has a great and safe day. To those in Florida, get ready.

Good Morning,
We're watching Wilma very closely. If she stalls, there's still a chance the ship could get out of port on Sunday. But, it will be one heck of a ride on bumpy seas and going full speed!!
We're gearing up for more showers here in Avon Park Florida. It's kind of the calm before the storm. Our local paper is saying that we "could" get tropical force winds--up to 74mph during the hurricane. Oh, joy! We'll be in Ft. Lauderdale in the midst of it. The sun is coming up right now, and that's a good thing.
So, have a great day today. Good for you, Doug!!!

ONLY 65 more shopping days till Christmas.

Thought that might wake you up. Good morning all.

Lynne: And anyone else sailing out or in this weekend. I feel for you. Doesn't sound like fun to me. We will be watching.

Doug: Whats with all the rage around you lately? Good come back to your story.

MichelleP- are you still having problems posting? Haven't seen you in awhile, I know you were getting fed up.

Nothing new up here in Michigan. Had to scrape the car off this morning from frost.

Good morning from WI. TBug, you crack me up!

I got up at 4:45AM to go have coffee with the early birds. I don't make it very often for obvious reasons. On the way home I went by one of the small lakes in this area, and it was gorgeous in the early morning light. Trees in fall colors, fog rising off of calm waters. I love taking all that in.

Doug, great story this morning. You be careful though. Sure makes you wonder what makes some people tick.

Ed, hope your wife can get in for her surgery soon. Glad you got through the insurance obstacle.

We are keeping our eyes on Wilma. Praying for all of you in Florida, and those heading for cruises or returning this weekend.

Take care everyone.
Phyll

Morning All, from a chilly Montreal (3C or 37F). That yellow ball I saw in the sky yesterday morning must've been my imagination, because as soon as I'd posted, it disappeared and it rained the rest of the day!
I think I see it again, but now I don't trust my eyes!

Doug, you have some wonderful stories. there's really no place like N.Y. is there?
TBug, you definatrely woke me up with that announcement!
To all you Floridians, "batten down the hatches" and please stay safe!

James (hubby) is off to see my new Osteopath this morning, hoping to get some relief from the chronic shoulder pain he's been suffering for months.
So far, 6 weeks of physiotherapy has not helped one bit.

Update on the kitten; he still is nameless. My daughter appreciated all your suggestions and said thank-you. She's still trying to decide.....

Good Morning from Central Texas. The sun is just now coming up, and it is beautiful outside. Not much going on here today. A little clean up, haircut, and meeting at my son's school. yea!

Doug, Thanks for the news, now I won't have to watch this morning.
Watch out those in Florida. I was watching the web cam in Cozumel yesterday, and they were getting slammed. It figures, I get all of my excursions booked, and a storm comes through and messes it up. Feel sorry for those on the Conquest this week. All ports were changed, and no matter where they are, it must be rough.

Have a great day.

Luanne

Kuki - your advice worked, thank you!!! 8)

Good morning cruisers! Extremely busy day for me at work today. Lots to do. And tomorrow I have to come in and work some more even though it's an off day. May even come in on Saturday.

Keeping a close eye on this hurricane... we're supposed to go to the Keys on Wednesday and I hope it doesn't make us change our plans.

Have a good day.

Cheers,
Michelle P.

Good Morning Mates from a dull and otherwise duller National park for this time of year. I have no funny bus stories like Doug but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Doug...I still have tears running down both legs.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday and I will be absent from here untill Monday. Have a Large weekend all.

Prayers for all those in need and in the path of Wilma, and prayers for all those in need for sickness and other issues. Bless All of you.

Good morning CMs,
Doug, now I know why I am so happy not to live in NY anymore. Don't miss those kooks. Loved your retort!
Ed, glad to hear that your wife will get her surgery. Ellis is doing so much better since having both of them done.
It seems like a nice day today, usually the calm before the storm, Wilma please go away!!!!!!

Good morning from south west Florida. My dh just informed me they might evacuate Collier county what a mess this will cause. We are in a bind here. We do have friends in daytona we could go too BUT we have 3 pets and most important a daughter that is supposed to give birth next friday 8am per c-section. Oh BOY!
Today I have to run to get all my prescriptions filled, propane tank filled also and my wallett with cash in case the ATM'S won't work. Got gas yesterday and the lines are very long. The generator is being delivered today by my dh and I need to see if we need an extension cord. I don't think he is going to work tomorrow.
I need to find the old fashioned phone <not a cord less one>.Lots to do and prepare thats for sure.
I was sick early this morning so Cynthia could not check if anyone responded to her review. The only thing that was done on her review it was spell checked. She is very proud that she could post it here I have to run and get ready.Tomorrow the hurricane shutters are going up, I don't like them at all.Oh well, just another day in paradise

Doug the story was very funny!

Sue,
Stay safe, my prayers are with you at this frantic time.
Hope we don't get the storm. This morning on the NOAA they said it was going to slam into Cozumel and Cancun. Sure hope all the cruise ships are hi-tailing out of there.
Every one have a good day where evry the road may take you.

Good Morning cruisemates! The last day for 20 days that I care what the forcast is in Calgary
The were predicting some snow flurries, that could have affected the airport, but they haven't materialized yet.

Going to load the luggage into the car shortly, and then Kuki Jr. will come by and take us to the airport. A long travel day ahead, but it's going to be SO worth it. 3 pre cruise days in Rome, and board the ship Monday!

Going to be great to spend so many wonderful days at sea with CruiseMates buds.

Default Good Thursday Morning, Friends

Good morning from sunny Southern California. My DH just turned the furnace on for the first time this season. Fall is definitely here. I guess he got tired of being cold all day yesterday; I know I did.

We're going to Fry's Electronic Store today and the go on to a mall to buy a wedding gift.

Gotta make a couple of phone calls, but first, some coffee.

Have a good day, and stay away from Wilma.

Well my daughter and her husband are on their honeymoon cruise-- Carnival Conquest----started out on direct path of hurricane Wilma but with port changes things seem to be working out------ at least I heard the food was good--- and that my new son in law has won some money in the casino------they are sad to have missed out on the original ports but what the heck they are cruising and I'm not---- what a nice wedding gift from her new brother and sister in law----

Good morning to all. This is the first chance I've had to post in a while.
Doug.....your bus trip experience was too funny! Going on a land trip next week to Atlantic City.......not a cruise; but at least it's a get-away.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning from a sunny Vancouver. Still no school for the kids;we have been so bad-slipping into summer holiday habits of sleeping in late! I heard that they should be back in school-hopefully Monday!
Doug-What a story!! I had to laugh though!
Phyll- 4:45 am and out for coffee!! Yikes!!=way too early!
Kuki-enjoy the cruise and all of you CMs behave!(Just kidding!)
VTJen-I would go to a Body Shop home party;there is always neat and reasonable priced things at their stores! I do not think we have them(Body Shop home parties) in Canada.
Everyone take care-esp. those in the Hurricane Wilma areas.
Bye for now. Brenda
