Default Texas Cruisers

Curious, just how many Texans are out here on the boards?

You guys ever have any sort of Casual meet and greets to keep in touch? Before a cruise or what have you?

I am booked for the 3/12/06 out of galveston and see a few folks on the cruise are in the D/FW area. Maybe before the cruise we can have a big get together some where and say hello before we cruise or something.

I am part of a huge group that play on-line games and we tend to do this every 2 months or so, and found it a great way to keep the friendship rolling, or turn tail and run away

Interested in some input or maybe this is already happening?

Debbie, I needed to hear all those nice things. It has been one of those days from H***. It's days like this that I wonder if 7/11 is hiring.

I am from Georgia, but have turned Texan. We are in the Fort Hood area of the state. I would love to get a group together. I understand that it has been done before.

Born in Georgia, but live here. I don't consider myself a texan or anything else actually since I grew up military....but I do live here (for now).
I am near Galveston. I have met over 75 cruisers either on a ship or on land.
Would love to meet more! Not interested in a group cruise, but I wouldn't mind a land meeting!

well, y'all KNOW I am in Texas.... Lubbock, to be exact ! I left DFW 5 years ago... but whenever we need a specific item seems like we are always back in DFW to shop ! I would love to see a group cruise leave out of Galveston or maybe someday N'Orleans ! I would bend over backwards to join that group !!!!

Is that not a bit shallow this thread? Why not just go and meet new people on ship, that would be new and potentially a great experience

I think it is a wonderful thread. Many states get together to meet and talk about cruising. getting Texans together, is a great idea. What about the lookers out there. Are you from Texas? What state are you from?

Oh, DavidB,

You'd better keep yourself on the Gripes Board, or have a cup of tea .
I think it would be great to meet online friends on land or on the sea!
Even DavidB .
Just from me,

Hi Y'all! I also am here in Texas--an 11 year transplant. I live about 15 minutes from the Houston Cruise Terminal and 50 minutes from Galveston. I read all the time, and post some. Glad to see so many Texans on the site! DavidB, I think you are just jealous !

I am sailing on 11/10/05-but not from Galveston although I will return to Galveston. As my signature says, I am on the Grand Princess Transatlantic and can not wait!

I am never jealous of insecurity in,,, like wanting to be only with like, Too narrrow an opinion. The world and its people are bigger than that, especially when cruising.

We'll be on the Conquest on the March 5 sailing - then we will be staying in Galveston for a few days when we get back - is that time enough to become on "honorary Texan" I hope so!

Luanne - how far are you from the Galveston area - I would love to meet you in person! I feel I know you so well already!

If anyone wants to come on down next March and have a drink or two or three with us - just let us know.

All I really know about Texas I learned frrom Frommer's Guides and watching "Dallas" - now if I could only remember who shot JR?

Jennifer, I would love to meet you too. I am about 350 miles from Galveston. Krista shot J.R. and I know you will have a wonderful trip, and I will watch your sail away from the cam.

David, it's not narrow minded to find out who is near you for a get together. I know of Florida get togethers and ones in California, etc. It gives you a chance to meet posters from your area and get to know them. Also if a group cruise for people living in Texas seems narrow minded, maybe you aren't concidering that people who live CLOSE to ports wont need airfare so it would be easier to get that group together. Why post something only to gripe?
We DO have a gripes board. I think that the way your mind is working is NARROW.

Jennifer:

As for Who shot JR? The culprit turned out to Kristen Shepard (Mary Crosby), Sue Ellens sister (JR's sister in law) and when J.R. threatened to have her arrested she announced that she was carrying his illegitimate child.

Luanne - I have days like that too! So hoping we can meet before you sail! Don't worry about the ........ I hope the only reason he is posting is because it is Halloween and he is a goblin!

Are your kids going on this cruise? So glad I'm not waiting till Dec. 18 to go - the Dec 4 sailing seems tooo far away as it is. I thought about a New Years sailing as NCL has an 11 nighter but it was too long to wait! Too bad you aren't going with us! I'll have to tell you all about NCL and how it compares to Carnival.. Hope it comes close! Debbie

Got it - now I remember - Kristen ya! And Bobby came back to life because it was all a dream

I am so looking forward to seeing Galveston - what are the absolute "must see" things in that area - and Houston as well?

We will definately do the "Space Centre" and "Moody Gardens". What is the best place to eat?

Any tips will be most appreciated - thanks.

ttfn Jennifer
