The "Tropical Cyclone" season is OPEN!!!

Well this is the start of the season of Hurricanes known as Tropical Cyclones in our part of the middle/southern Pacific.

Last year the place of my birth, Niue Island was smaaaaaaashed by one cyclone.
At least 50% of the buildings were flattened including the only Hospital.
It is slowly getting back to normal.

I have just this minute realized that I have had personal experience of a Cyclone.
Circa 1967/68 I remember having to take shelter in my parents room overnight while the storm was raging.
In the morning the windows were smashed and water filled the rest of the house.
A huge tree had been blown over in the back yard, but being 4 odd years old everything looked big.lol

Have you had a similar experience?


They predict 7 to 9 biggies for this year.
(Always wondered why this time of the year was cheaper? lol )

Liam - I have no experience with hurricanes/cyclones/typhoons except for cruising through the mild remnants of tropical storm Tammy last month (and that was bad enough for me)! I only hope that your storm season is nowhere as bad as the Atlantic season was!

I live in FLORIDA........so YES! Before that I lived on the Outer Banks of North Carolina......so again, YES to experience. You'd think I would head to North Dakota and hide under the bed.

Good luck Liam.......hope it's quieter there in the Pacific than it's been in the Atlantic. We have 29 more official days of hurricane season before it's over for another 6 months.
