At one time I may have found this stereotype true but lately I'm seeing this sort of thing from many males: Even the make up.

Take care,
Mike (Who cannot understand why it takes more than one to two minutes at an ATM)

When choosing a line, whether it's at Wal-Mart or at a multiple atm, I always go for the line with the larger percentage of men in it (unless I'm looking to hook up).

I invariably get out of there 2 or 3 clients faster.

At the risk of sounding sexist (awwww what the heck -- oink!!! oink!!!) , Our building at work is secured by an automated turnstile into which you insert your id card and input a pin number for entrance. Most of the males have their ID cards out and ready to go. Many women, however, wait until they are right at the turnstile to rummange through their suitcase sized handbags for the ID. Also many women when at the checkout hold up the line by arranging their change just so in thier wallet, while most men shove their change into their pocket to sort out later (or not).

Flame away ladies!!!

I'm not flaming, Doug because I've seen those women (even though I'm not one). But I've also seen the little old men with their change purses in line at the grocery who wait until they've been rung up before reaching for them. (Find the change purse, undo the rubber band, count out the change at least 4 times to make sure it's right, examine a penny for the date, look at all the state quarters....you get the idea).

I was at the supermarket the other day and it was near closing time when the woman in front of me at the checkout counter wanted to pay for her groceries with her paycheck. The cashier looked at me and the others in the line sheepishly and said she would have to go upstairs to the safe to get more money.

"That's o.k. dear," I said to her, "my purchases are for breakfast anyway."

Book me on your next cruise and enjoy your personal punching bag.

Dorthy- I can relate to your observation. There are seniors and then there are old seniors. The man you described is what I would consider an old senior who have become pains in the butt as they age. While they are a minority they are common enough to become the stereotype by which all seniors are damned. The ones that irritate me are those seniors in the grocery checkout who examine each and every line on the receipt before they will move on and let the next person check out. I told Marj if she ever catches me acting like that she was authorized to kick my butt in public.

My mom used to tell everyone in the stores, we're not allowed to go to the store during noon time or late afternoon when working people get off and need to get errands done. I used to tell my parents you have all day don't go out right at noon or between 4 and 6 p.m.! Honest, I did! :-)

Some seniors have all the time in the world, use time in stores as their social hour, contact with live people, etc. and are clueless that them taking forever in lines matters to others!

I've lived in a seniors mobile home park forever so I totally relate to the senior issues! Also, I hate to agree but when it comes to bank lines, card entry, etc. men are more organized then women (generally). I walk up to the door at Abbott's and I'm in and always holding the door for people on cell phones, carrying tons of stuff, etc. what do they do with all the stuff they bring???
