CruiseAholic November 21st, 2005 05:10 AM

Isn't it obvious ??

Alcoholics are persons who have an addiction to drinking, well "CruiseAholic" has an addiction to cruising. Difference is they have treatment options

Theta November 21st, 2005 06:08 AM

Theta was my old dog's name. I knew it was unique so I used it.

DougR. November 21st, 2005 06:21 AM

No great secret or story here -- it is my nickname and first letter of my last name.

Sea Trekker November 21st, 2005 06:29 AM

We love to cruise, and we are Star Trek fans so Sea Trekker it fits :)
My real name is Carole and my hubby is Earl

LGriggs548 November 21st, 2005 06:55 AM

Nothing unusual for me, first initial, last name and the 3 digits assigned to me by AOL. Absolutely no originality.

Linda

nolou525 November 21st, 2005 07:11 AM

Steve, great minds must think alike. I was going to start a post with this same subject.

Anyway--nolou525 is Red Sox related. I've had it for a while now.

NO for Nomar LOU for Lou Merloni (he's from my hometown)

5 is (was) Nomar's number when he played for the Sox and 25 was Lou's number when he played in Japan. (Lou was playing baseball in Japan when we joined the internet crowd)

Sailing gal November 21st, 2005 07:16 AM

Mine isn't very interesting. It was the first thing that popped in my mind. It technically is't correct if sailing means being on a sailboat. Now my aol screen name is another story.

skymaster November 21st, 2005 07:46 AM

I'm a pilot, and many years ago had a Cessna SkyMaster 336. It's a unique airplane, so some people started calling me that at the airport. It just stuck.
See you aboard,
Ken

TBug November 21st, 2005 08:01 AM

My childhood nicname was "Bug". It stuck my whole life with all but mostly my father. I never heard him call me by my real name, Tina. It was Bug, Buggy, or even Bugith. Even in public places. Pretty funny sometimes. (man, I miss him) When he died, my nicname died with him. I use it here in honor of him.

T for Tina + Bug = TBug

Karen: What is your aol and the story behind it? Teaser!

VTJen November 21st, 2005 08:02 AM

Jen - short for Jennifer, VT - I'm from Vermont

Nolou - I miss Nomar!

susancruzs November 21st, 2005 08:17 AM

Mine comes from a friend I met while cruising. She gave me a wood photo frame, has letters glued on that say Susans Cruisin!

I change the photo for the next ship I'm going on and nice rememberance of Ginny, my cruisin buddy!

rollerdonna November 21st, 2005 08:29 AM

When I first got a computer (not that long ago), I came up with"rollerdonna "because "rollermama" was already taken. At the time, I was much more into rollerskating than cruising, having only cruised once. Now I am a cruise veteran, and haven't skated for over 2 years! My skating buddy and I have been missing it lately, and have vowed to go back to it - when we are not so busy!
Here's a photo of me on my 21st birthday with my brand new skates. I have been skating for a l-o-n-g time!

Mine is from my maiden and married names. My maiden name is pronounced "bear" and my married name "goose".

I love the stories behind the names!

Five gifts from heaven make me Papa.

TBug November 21st, 2005 08:47 AM

Donna: Just to think I used to think you came up with yours because you sat around with "rollers" in your hair!! Nice legs!

Beargoose: Aren't you getting close to your first cruise?

Cruise Cynic November 21st, 2005 08:49 AM

Hi, I'm Michelle P., and I'm completely unoriginal.

Cheers,

kimmiegirl November 21st, 2005 10:36 AM

Hi Maureen Laura here,

I won't go into graphic detail how I chose my CM name - but suffice to say that last year during our Victory cruise, we went on a fantastic tour of St. Thomas with one of the locals (just 4 of us - our US friends and ourselves) and he started singing some of the local songs with us to sing-along-to during the afternoon whilst we had a tour of the whole island.

One of them had a verse ' calling for Kim' which I am sure if you start singing it to yourself you will realise why I cannot go into graphic detail.

Anyway, we were rolling around in stitches and the name Kimmiegirl just popped out from that.

Hope I didn't embarrass/offend anybody by my little story - sorry if I have but it is where my little alias comes from. I also chose tht name as I know my friends do surf this Forum sometimes and they would know who was posting.

Regards,
KG

Tide Pride November 21st, 2005 10:42 AM

No rocket science here. I live in Alabama and graduated college from the University of Alabama whose nickname is the Crimson Tide and mascot is the elephant. My avatar shows an official University mascot. For you college football fans, I entered school one year after Joe Namath left for the NY Jets and Kenny ( Snake ) Stabler was our quarterback.

Regards,
Ben

CruisinK n J November 21st, 2005 10:44 AM

What is Behind Your Screen Name?

Nothing original here, either. We got hooked on cruising back in the early 80's. So we took cruising and added the first initial of each name.

Judy

Cruznut2 November 21st, 2005 10:47 AM

Cruznut is my email address and my license plate too. On this site Ihad to take Cruznut2 because someone else beat me to it!!. The name says it all I am nuts about cruising.

Laura

LS80 November 21st, 2005 10:50 AM

CA Cruiser November 21st, 2005 10:59 AM

Hi Everyone,
Like many of you, I'm not too original..CA Cruiser=California Cruiser but I did recently change my license plate to LV2BATC which means Love to be at SEA!!! I got the idea from someone s/n here on CM. I also had it put it on the one with a whale tail. I get a lot of cool comments regarding it too and meet some nice people.

Teresa

Mike M November 21st, 2005 11:00 AM

When I originally came on the boards I was M&M. That was a long time ago. I am now "the establishment", and have no originality. LOL I now just go with my first name the initial of my last name. I am still completely addicted to cruising.

Take care,
Mike
