Spybot Users (and others) Please Read

If you use Spybot freeware to scan for spyware, do not forget to immunize. My system is much cleaner since I started following the immunization procedure.... in fact, Spybot has not detected a threat since.

The "immunization" feature blocks malicious adware from infesting your PC, kinda like a doorman. You must also keep this feature up-to-date.

Before I began immunizing, there were always one or two "little buggers" hanging around after every scan that needed zapping.

Tip:
Also run AdAware freeware. It sometimes detects things Spybot misses, and vice-versa. Neither will, as yet, clean out the self-preserving CoolWebSearch malware completely from your registry. If you have this highly malicious bug, seek very good help in removing it.

Good advice. I run both SB and AdAware daily.....and I update each day, as well as immunize. Overkill? Maybe.....but I try to be cautious.

Overkill... I think not.

And if you don't immunize, you are decreasing the effectiveness of a very good anti-spyware tool.
