Default Priority line for security screening

It seems to me that there are often 2 bottlenecks for boarding. One is often at the security screening area, and one is often at check in. Since the goal of having a loyalty program offering priority check in/boarding is to reward past guests, do you think it's unreasonable to have priority guests use a separate security line as well to speed up the process?

any thoughts?

I know of several airports where first class passengers use a priority line through security.

Las Vegas, and Vancouver come to mind. Though I'm sure there are more.

I wonder why cruise line don't then. Are there cruise terminals which have this also? Is there anyone who would object to this?

I think there should be a quicker way to embark for your cruise. Where would you take a hijacked ship??
We have had to wait in line for one or more hours to check in. Now there is a quicker way with the Carnival Fun Pass. I hope it works this time.

Well, if you're a pirate then you would take it to the Caribbean

Especially if it a Disney ship.

Default Priority Line for Security Screening

When we were in line two weeks ago for Jewel of the Seas in FLL someone came out and said all platinum and diamond (Crown and Anchor) follow me. We went thru seperate security and up the escalator to a bank of check-in personnel. Very smooth indeed. Also, when disembarking, they only called two colors at once and when we were finally called it was very smooth with no bedlam in the warehouse where the luggage is waiting.

For those that book suites you do get swifter and better treatment. On some lines people who have traveled on them many times also get priority treatment. Unfortunately not all do this. I can understand why they check and it is mostly for weapons such as firearms and that is understandable as you do not want Robbie Rambo onboard with you! The check just prior to boarding is simply to take your photo and code your ships card which help them keep track of you comings and goings off the ship.

When I embarked on the Caribbean Princess last month, they asked all Platinum members to come to a much shorter line ... then they moved us inside where we could sit - and after that, we were the first ones in to get our Sign and Sail cards. This is standard procedure for Princess for Platinum and above (Elite).
