Default CALLING all ARTISTS - Logo for CM New Years Party of the Cen

No doubt we have a LOT of creative folks out there, so thought it would be fun to see what types of logos you can come up with for the CruiseMates New Year's Party of the Century cruise!!!

So.. come on you budding Piccassos.... GET BUSY, and show us your designs. Maybe we can make a contest out of it, and the winner will get to spend a night with Mike (the loser will get to spend a week with Mike )

Anything that depicts a Moose being towed off the back of the ship will earn extra points towards winning a special added prize that is actually worth something. (The Moose being towed is a joke)

Don't worry about having to spend the night with me. Betty has already nixed that idea and she outweighs the Moose any day.

Take care,
Mike

I'll think about the logo, it's a good idea. I was also thinking about a possible color-scheme for New Years Eve, that all CMs could wear the same color(s).
for instance, Red & Black (which would make it easy for the men in tuxes!), and red dresses for the ladies (Lady in Red).
That way we would be easily identifiable to each other, what do you think?
(and I'm giving you a whole year to shop for an outfit!)

IF it is red and black..I am coming to the party as Dale Earndthart jr's Bud car.

Donna..that is a good idea..I did not mean to take away from the original idea.

Donna, that would be good, except i can not wear red! My coloring is horrid...Pale with Auburn hair. I guess I can always dye my hair black....

Donna, that is a good idea about the color scheme. I do not like red, but I can wear something with a little red & mostly black.
Earl can wear a black eye
Kuki, I have several ideas for a logo. where do I send it?
We are a company that does t-shirts. I can do them cheap.!!
Send me a pm.

If possible I'd personally like to see the logo suggestions posted to the boards. Maybe a sketch or scan of a design that could go into our galleries if possible, and then posted here for all to see.

Sure, there'll be all kinds of GREAT suggestions for stuff for this cruise. Look forward to hearing more, and me.. Ill just sit back and let Mike decide 8)

Of course, I should've said PURPLE since you all know that is my favourite color, but I just thought black and red would be easier to find around the holidays! Besides, I can't force everyone to look like Barney!

Barney is always a possibility. These people could be game for anything... Afterall, the last time we did a CruiseMates New Year's cruise they looked like this................................

I have a question....Id the CM logo been the same since day one? or has there been changes to it as time goes by? If so, I would like to see some of the old ones to compare to the changes to todays.

I have no artistic talent, but my husband does, and my Mother In law has a tremendous talent.

New years Theme...Cruising...Hmmmm.....will get on it.

How long do I have to get the whip out?

Just wondering what the logo would be used for. Did you say a banner? Or on T shirts? Logo's are normally very simple, aren't they? Oh I see. I was looking at a logo website. So a logo could be the name cruisemates with stuff around it and the letters created in an unusual way. Sounds interesting.
About the red part for ladies who can't wear red. How about a black dress with bright red lipstick?

The Logo could be used for cabin door signs, name tags, t shirts, banners... possibilities are endless. For ideas... here's the Logo for Let's Get Lei'd Version 3.0 - coming this weekend.
We've used it for magnetic cabin door signs, name tags, and T shirts.

Greetings:

Later today I will be setting up a gallery in the Cruisemates Personal Photo Gallery.

I will also be posting the instructions on how to submit your entry. Don't worry you will have a few months to come up with something and submit it to me. I will post it and everyone who is going on the cruise will have a chance to vote.

The entry that is chosen will be used for the door sign and the background for the name badge.

So start thinking of something fit for "The Cruise of the Century"

Take care,
Mike

I'd say as many good ones as you want to submit. Just limit the # of bad ones

Default Interested Graphic Designer...

Hello, I am the daughter of the cruise mates member Ms_Kalamity (Jane) and am also a Graphic Designer. My mom informed me of this contest of sorts so I thought I would see if I could help! I have read the previous posts and the ideas given....is there a decisive look, color, style or theme you would like to go with overall. Any major DO's and/or DON'Ts? Is the title "Cruise of the Centry" the theme and is it reqired text in the logo? I am assuming that you would want the date/year (ie New Years 2006-2007 or the like). If I could get some feed back on this I will get crakin' on some ideas!

Thanx,

Amanda

WOW ! Amanda that is SO nice of you to offer.

Guess the "official" name of the cruise is the "CruiseMates New Year's Party of the Century".

I don't know what others would think, but seems to me it would be nice to have the name and date in their somewhere, though the name isn't crucial, if it works better without it.

Don't think there'd be any specific color or design schemes, other than whatever your imagination can produce. Festive and fun would be a good prequisite to work with

Don't think we want a picture of Mike dressed as the New Year's Baby though

Can't wait to see some of the stuff you and all the other talented folks come up with!!!

Default Logo for New Years Party of the Century

Whatever, or whoever, (probably bad grammar there) wins this contest, I hope the logo will go on tee shirts (available in XXL, please) and name labels for any pre-cruise parties we might have at the hotel or on the ship. These will make good keepsakes.

Good luck, entrants

Judy

Hello all,

My daughter (Amanda) has already pencil sketched out 2 variations of a possible logo foy you. She just needs the intructions on how to post a scanned image of these to see if you like them. If so let her know which one you like and she will do a computer design image that could be taken to a printer, in color. Just remember these are quick hand pencil drawings just to get an idea of what you would like. I am sure she will post the finished product once whe gets feedback from you all to see what you like.

Thanks
Jane (Mom of Amanda)

Mark is a freelance graphic designer. I sent him this thread and hopefully he will come up with some ideas as well.

Cheers,

When anyone gets something done to give us a peak. Just send e mail them to Mike, and he'll post them in a photo gallery... and then they can be posted into a message on the boards.

Looking forward to see the results of all the imaginations.

Sounds like fun. There should be some great graphics that come out of this.

As for the dress code. No red! Maybe just nametags to identify each other.
Some people don't look good in particular colors, others just don't like them.
