Good Morning Mary Lou and all CruiseMates. Looks like a typical mid winter day here inNH's Lakes Region in the 30's with snow showers and even some rain. Day off today. Planning to pick up Patty and have her here for dinner. Have a great day CruiseMates
Good Morning all!!!! Please say a prayer for Tom, Marj's brother, who was admitted to the hospital yesterday with pnemonia and they detected a mass in one of his lungs. He is an out of control diabetic who is very obese and is an unrepentant smoker.
Marj went into a New Years cleaning frenzy triggered by the need to take down our Christmas decorations. We ended up cleaning the garage when all we really needed to do was toss the decorations back into the corner of the garage where they were perfectly happy. After finishing the job, I go back inside where she announces that she wants the piano moved and while I was at it could I move the couches and chairs so she could vaccum underneath. In the process we discovered another of our Shih Tzu, Isabelle's little "Treasure Chests" where she hides things she steals. Lo and behold there was my wife's long lost partial bridge in its case. We thought she was going to have to go to the dentist for a new one. We also found a good supply of reading glasses, a hairbrush and silverware.
Everyone have a great day!!!

Boy, were there ever a some boring football games this weekend. (Except for the fans of the winning teams.) My brother is bummed because he's a big Giants fan. Can anybody say wipe-out?
DW has her surgery this afternoon on her other wrist. She is not even nervous about having it done, since the first one was such a breeze. The only problem is that she has to stay away from food this morning. It's kind of tough because she's diabetic, and she tries to keep a tight schedule with her meals. She has to adjust her insulin and keep the juice on hand for any problems.
An interesting newspaper article: "First members of post-war generation mark landmark birthday this year." what do Susan Sarandon, Suzanne Somers & Sylvester Stalone all have in common other than their initials? They will be 60 years old in 2006.
Babies born in the post war period from 1946 - 1966 form what we know as the baby boomers and the first born of that era turns 60 this year.
Other notable personalities turning 60 this year include, former president Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Laura Bush, Dolly Parton, Loni Anderson, Jimmy Buffett, Donald Trump (some of his hair), Michael Milken, Cher, Susan Luci, Patty Duke, Timothy Dalton, Tommy Lee Jones, Pat Sajak, Reggie (Mr. October) Jackson and let not forget RollelrDonna's friend and idol Barry Gibbs of the Bee Gees.
But, you know what? Turning 60 in 2006 is not considered old like when people turned 60 in the 1940's, 1950's and even the 1960's.
Good monday morning all CM's
Back to work after a 3 day weekend. That was nice. I cashed in my gift card received over the holidays. that was fun!
The Bucs lost.. That was horrible Good luck to the teams remaining, on to the super bowl.
Cool and crisp in Florida today highs only to the 60's last night was the coldest so far, low 40 brrrr.
See you all on chat
What a funny little doggie story DougR. Henry likes to take things but not so much anymore. He likes soft things like Ryans little socks and clothes.
I was in Grand Central yesterday and picked up one of those boxes of black/white cookies. I should have looked at the price. $18.00 with a coffee. But I did have to bring back something for the little guy. Then DH let him stay up until I got home. They really missed me because I am always home. I have to get out more so they get used to me not being around so much.
Then on the bus I did not have change so a nice man dug in for some quarters. The driver took off and I fell into the man and his change fell all over the bus floor. Between the two of us, I was able to come up with 1.90(bus fare $2) and the bus driver waved me on as to say good enough. I know, not a big deal, but just a couple of kind gestures that lit up the day.
Today I have to go to the dreaded neurologist. I hope I do not wait in the office forever, especially after waking up at 2:30 last night.
Ultimately, the only power to which a man should aspire is that which he exercises over himself.
Morning All, from Montreal, where it is -3C and snowing once again. We've been getting lots of snow, but very little freezing temperatures so can't complain.
I'm having a hard time typing this morning because yesterday I hit my index finger hard with a hammer while hammering the lid back on a paint can. The nail is black and it is still throbbing. How dumb can you get?
It is back to work for me this morning, then tomorrow is my bi-weekly day off, so it should be an easy week, except for schlepping in the snow. I promise not to shovel, because my back is finally feeling better!
Doug, I loved the story of your doggie's treasure trove!
Trip, I don't envy you your kitchern renovation. I'm sure glad mine is over!
Sailing Gal, 2 good deeds in 1 day in NYC? That is something!
BW, I can't believe Jimmy Buffett will be 60 this year! Christmas Eve, if I am not mistaken. Of course I know Barry Gibb's b-day too - Sept. 1st.
The only good thing about all these peopole turning 60, is it makes me feel young!
To those having surgery and Dr.'s visits today, best wishes to you!
Good morning from Central Florida. Temps going to be quite nice today.
Why is it whenever you start a project, before it is complete you are into many more steps than originally contemplated. All I wanted was the moldings changed and now we have removed a piece of the wall and are in the process of measuring to see how big the replacement piece must be. Do we have the material to replace it here at home? OH NO... That would be too easy. So my simple painting the bathroom task is becoming an ongoing saga. Oh well after 44 years I should be used to the process.
Trip maybe your project will go more smoothly than mine.
Karen sounds like your trip was memorable. Love black and white cookies but $18.00 is a bit much methinks.
Donna, that's why 'da Coot' doesn't let me hammer. Hope your finger doesn't hurt for too long.
BW, guess I'm traveling in good company with all these people turning 60.
Eddie hope your wifes surgery goes as well this time as the last. Speedy recovery to her.
Doug know that feeling, everytime I move a piece of furniture I find something else stashed away. Pogo has a thing for socks. Anytime he can get his teeth into one, it's history.
Laura you and Patty will have a great time together. Enjoy the lunch.
Carole it's always fun spending found money.
Jacqueline your countdown is getting really close now. Can't wait to meet you and your group.
Good morning all. Well Caroline's basketball team won 22 to 7 yesterday. Can anyone say "organized chaos"? It was great fun, a nice small town family oriented afternoon.
I seem to be in great demand as a "sitter" these days. Going up tonight to hang out with Donald and Sabrina while my daughter and SIL head out for an appointment.
Giants played as expected (at least as I expected). I'm not a big Eli Manning fan. I think he was a monumental mistake. Any old Giant fans remember Lee Grosscup? Eli , unlike his Dad and brother, is not a "franchise" quarterback. Well , on to round two next week and off to the golf course for the Giants.
Lots of doctors visits and such posted above. All are in my thoughts and prayers.
Have a great day everyone.
Good Monday CMs, wishing you all a great day and pray that everyone with hospital things a good and fast recovery. We are also thinking of doing a little changing out the kitchen sink and faucet. Home Depot here we come!!!
Good morning from Orlando. Have been up and out already and getting ready to go back out to meet a friend for lunch....I love having Mondays off.
Doug your story sort of reminded me of visiting my dad when the Alzheimers really kicked in. It was always interesting to see what was where!
Good morning from sunny Southern California where chilly nights and pleasant days reign, but there's no rain. I had a brief run-in with the coffee maker which decided not to work and then abruptly changed its mind. It's seven, so maybe I am in the market for a new one.
Doug, I loved the doggie story, too. My mother's neighbor has a cat who likes to steal clothing from the daughter's room and carry them to the basement.
Tweety, good luck with the renovation. I know it's inconvenient, but I really wish my bitty kitchen could go to rehab.
Keith discovered that the co-pay for his seizure med rose dramatically. He plans to talk to his neurologist ASAP, like today. I asked him, "You want to get in to see a specialist w/o an appt. . . on a Monday Lotsa luck "
I might delve into some ironing and bathroom cleaning today. We'll see.
Location: Wisconsin....about 100 miles south of the Frozen Tundra and 70 miles east of Camp Randall
Good morning everyone from grey and dreary SE Wisconsin....now into day 17 without any sun.......I feel like I am living in Seattle (minus the rain.) Hopefully tomorrow the sun will come out (or I may break into that little orphan annie song....and that would NOT be a pretty sight!)
Have a great day everyone - and prayers heading out for all in need of them.
Carnival Breeze with Ray B and Aerogirl 5/4/14!
I seem to get on here after the morning and afternoon rush, so I thought I would post individually, this time.
Yes, I was saddened and disgruntled at the Buc's loss, and then the Bengals' loss, but don't mind the Panthers and the Steelers going on. Remember those famous front four on the Steelers years ago? We have cruising friends who are avid Panther fans, so I'm glad they made it through the first week.
This August I will be joining the renowned list of 60 year olds. I and others along the way will be in good company!
Our weather warmed up here in Avon Park, FL. The temp reads 72 degrees at 6:24PM.
I'm with the group that says how friendly and supportive the Cruisemates are to each other. I look forward to posting every day. The Central Florida bunch is terrific in our fairly local vicinity. I just wish we could join them more on the outings. I hug all of you!!
Take care, till tomorrow! Lynne
