you are to lucky! I would love to go and see that! My husband has gone and said he would take me someday, but he hasn't yet. WOW...all that Power, and sound...and the tools...Oh yeah...a girls dream...
We love Speedweeks here and join in all the fun that we can. When I was racing and after I went into officiating races it was a time I got very little sleep. Now I just enjoy and if possible ride my motorcyle around.

I'm pretty sure I'm one of the only people in America that hasn't watched a race. I really just don't get it. I'm very ignorant on the subject. Maybe someday someone will explain it and all its finer points.

For VTJen: The best way to get interested in the sport is to find a driver you can pull for. Most all NASCAR fans have their favorite driver. Watch a race or two and feel the electricity of the race.
At the superspeedways, such as Daytona, they will be going close to 200 MPH, 5 inches off each others bumpers, for about 3 hours. At that speed there is about 2 lbs. of weight on each wheel. The car is continuously on the verge of spinning out, at 200 MPH. The slightest tap in the corners by another car and that car is in the wall.
I started becoming a fan about 8 years ago when the guys in my department were always talking about it during their breaks. The more they talked the more interested I became until I started watching some races. Then I became a fan. My favorite driver - Jeff Gordon.
Book me on your next cruise and enjoy your personal punching bag.
