Liam:

It is "The World" of Residensea. It is there until tomorrow morning before it leaves for Mexico. It is the all condo cruise ship. If you have a spare million or two laying around you can buy a 800 sq. ft. apartment and cruise the world. You'll have to buy your own food and cook it yourself but what a way to do it.

Take care,
Mike (Oh yes, there's an association fee on top of the purchase price)

Thanks Mike.

That explains the long stay.

Saw a story on telly the other day saying it costs 2 million for the smallest condo and 7 million for the biggest/best.

Do you really have to cook and supply your own food as well as pay the association fee??
I wounder how much that is???

I dare say there would be no problem with "sneaking/supplying" (so to speak) your own alcohol onbard.

Liam,

Two million is probably the right number. There are restaurants onboard but you have to pay to use them. It's like a little city. There are "rental" units that can be booked through the agency or used for resident's guests.

It is an interesting lifestyle and I have heard there is a bit of friction between the residents and the "temporaries".

Take care,
Mike

Sounds like a perfect reality tv series?

Seems a bit rude of the permanents to treat the temp's in that way?

We saw Residensea in Boston last Oct. - not impressed. It is very boxy looking. Yes, Liam, it would be a good reality show. Kinda figured residents wouldn't get along with "transients". Hmmm..psychology 101.

If you can afford 2-7 Million, then you can afford the butler and 6 star chef.

There was a great show all about this in either the Travel or Discovery chanel. There is a grocery store, where you can shop to make your own meals, or dine in an eatery onboard. Jewels, and other high end shops are also onboard

The one thing I didn't like, was that the ships is like a ghost ship many times, depending on how people come aboard, it can be very quiet. They showed a couple all alone in a lounge, being entertained. They also mentioned they could not find anyone to play cards with.

This is not a typical cruise ship, and for most, it's probably their 3/4
home. and they are not looking for a hairy chest contest... a typical cruiser, would not be a happy camper onboard, no matter how much we dream
