The Best Comeback Line Ever ...

Marine Corps General R was interviewed on the radio the other day and you have to read his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning guns and children.

Regardless of how you feel about gun laws you got to love this!!!!

This is one of the best comeback lines of all time.

It is a portion of a National Public Radio (NPR) interview between a female broadcaster and US Marine Corps General R who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military installation.

So, General R, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?

We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting.

Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?

I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.

Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?

I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.

But you're equipping them to become violent killers.

Well, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?

..................The radio went silent and the interview ended.

Good comeback line but not at all honest as it is totally made up. This "interview" never happened.

Funny line but you gotta wonder about ppl who have to lie to score political points. I don't mean you, kimmiegirl, I mean the original author who claimed it is true.

I could care less whether it is true or not. I enjoyed it as a story and agree with its spirit.
As a kid growing up I had dozens of toy guns. I was taught firearms in the boyscouts. I was taken to military installations and on to naval vessels as a scout. I wouldn't have a real gun in my home for any reason
and certainly never grew up to be a vicious killer.

Well! The Political Correctness Police got my last post. It seems referring to “Not the truth? as a “L**? is a violation.

Anyway, all I was saying is that the original author (NOT the original poster, who is a victim) smears both NPR, who never conducted or broadcast any such interview, and never would, and the United States Marine Corps, which has a strict code of conduct. No Marine officer would say that to a civilian guest in a million years.

Anybody familiar with NPR and the USMC knew it is a fake, but there are probably a lot of gullible people who believed this story, and that is a shame. That is all.
