Default Back from the West Coast

Last week my father had a series of small strokes (TIA)s and also pneumonia. Betty and I have been out there since the middle of last week. He is doing better but he and my mother-in-law will need some help around the house for awhile. Betty and I have helped arrange that and now I just hope they go along with it. It's up to them.

I did have some time to enjoy some good food and a break from Minnesota winter but I can say I don't think I will be moving to the giant freeway in the near future.

Take care,
Mike

Welcome back Mike and Betty! Hope your parents continue to do well. I know what you mean about living near the big freeway....don't know how my brother in law stands it in LA.

Hey Mike! Glad to hear you're back and doing OK.

Sorry to hear about Bettys father. Has to be very difficult for her being so far away and trying to deal and help. Hopefully he'll recover nicely and ease the pressure.

You guys should be spending all this time now anticipating the big Hong Kong cruise.

as modern medicine has allowed our parents to live longer, it also puts much more responsiblity on our generation. It use to be that your grown children live close to your parents, now often we live across country

the other factor about Los Angeles..earthquakes and mudslides (I'll take that over tropical hurricanes anyday)

Kuki,
We are anticipating. Betty, the bargain hunter, was able to pick up a very nice garment bag, while we were there and when we returned our Chinese visas were here. Only one problem. I am now Hichael and not Michael. My visa has been returned to the visa service. That error should have been caught. I wasn't too happy about that.

I also have to order some stuff for the cabin. Betty needs her Gin. (hick) Living with me ain't easy.

I was able to handle quite a few emails but I have about 50 to catch up on.

Take care,
Mike

I'm glad to hear that Betty's father is better. I hope they accept the help.

I love living in SoCal . . . obviously, or I wouldnt have stayed all these years. And I wouldn't trade today's temps of 80-plus

Glad you and Betty are home safe and sound, Mike.

Judy

Welcome back, Mike. I'm glad Betty's dad is doing better. It's good that you were able to arrange for some help for them while you were there. I know what you mean when you say, it's up to them now to keep the help. It sure is hard being so far from family when illnesses and needs come up.

Hey Mikey,
So glad you and Bettey are finally home, we've missed you around here. Hopefully the situation at the in-laws will be OK and they will go with the new change and feel good about it.

I checked in a couple of times from their house and even one time with a neat link up using my cell phone and a USB cable. I really liked that. It was faster than standard dial-up. Once I work out a few simple bugs I will use that more often.

Take care,
Mike

Welcome back Mike ... hoping Betty's parents will take advantage of the help you two have set up.

Just a little over a month and you're on your way. Bet you're getting real excited.
