Default ice, ice everywhere

what a horrrible weather day we are having. i live about 250 miles southwest of chicago and withing 45 minutes this morning we had pouring down rain, hail and then a sheet of icy rain has covered everything in site. all the schools and airports here are closed and there arent any brave soles out on the roads. i hope by the time i go to work at 2:30 this afternoon they have salted enough to get to work. the problem will be getting into my car. frozen solid

be careful out there everybody and i hope you make it safely to your destinations.

Here in central Wisconsin, we had 6 inches fall overnight, and it is still going. From what I hear, there is a storm coming up from Texas, which will dump yet another 12 inches throughout the day. I may have to strap some ski's on the truck and glide home!!

Good Luck Everyone, and stay safe!

Default Ice, ice everywhere

I can drive in a foot of snow, but black ice on the roads and in the trees puts the fear of God in me. I think that's true of most everyone. Stay safe out there in the midwest. Four days ago we had quite a blizzard, now it's in the high fifties and green grass is peeking through; weird. Antron, where have you been? You haven't posted for a long time.

Unfortunately, you are sending this mess to us! The high today was in the 70's, tonight we have severe thunderstorms, tomorrow night through Monday, sleet, freezing rain and snow! Highs in the low 30's.

I'll be at the store tomorrow with all the other crazy people !

DH can drive in snow (he's from Iowa), but nobody can drive on ice!

This weather is very weird, even for Arkansas!

We here in Montreal were supposed to get freezing rain and ice today, but instead got hit with a sudden blizzard and about 10 cms of snow. I'm still on the lookout for the freezing rain that still may follow.....

Uh oh, it's started! Went out awhile ago to move the cars after the plow came down, and it is freezing rain and miserable out there. Rush hour should be interesting tomorrow morning....

Funny weather indeed! Up here in Northern Michigan, on the lake, we've had about 12" of snow today and expect another 8-12" tonight. This is not so unusual, but what is odd, is that we had to stop a high school ski meet today due to thunder and lightning!!! During a snowstorm!! In February!1

I agree with all of you - lots of snow is easier to drive in than that dreaded ice. Sometimes I wish they wouldn't plow so much and leave something on the road instead of ice.

My grandfather, from Belgium, who always made up his own English words would say: "I can't get any gription". I think that's a combination of traction and grip.....makes sense to me!

Stay safe and warm everyone.

Here in Arkansas we had freezing rain first, then sleet, then snow, then more sleet! (And more to come tomorrow!)

We're staying inside!

Everything here comes to a complete STOP when we have weather like this!

Everybody, stay warm and safe,
