On my new 'puter

Whoopee!!!! I finally got my new computer running. And guess what my home page is? Yep, you guessed it! Cruisemates!!!!!

I've got so much stuff to do I don't even know where to begin. I think I'll take a break and gradually get everything loaded into the new 'puter. Maybe by July!!

Congrats Ed.. I know you are excited.
Mine crashed earlier this year and I had to reinstall everything including the OS. UGH !! Don' want to ever do that again.
Hopefully your transfer of files will go smoothly.

Congratulations, and what a Superior Being to do that all yourself! I'm married to a techie, or I'd be out of luck. I need a new laptop, and I've just about decided on a 14-inch Apple Notebook.

I'm glad that ours has color-coded wires or else we'd never have it hooked up!! Our grandsons did quite a bit while they were down here, 15 + 16 years old. Me, I'm still afraid it's going to blow up if I hit the wrong key or answer the wrong command!
If I can't figure something out, I just yell, "Trevor" or (Kuki, Mike M..... ).
Glad you have your new project to work on but I hope it doesn't take you to July to get everything installed and working.

A question for you.......what software did you use to get all your old stuff to your new computer? Was it something like Aloha Bob where you just connect a parallel cable between the two units, then let the software take over?

If you have DSL service, did that transfer OK, or did you need to re-load it from your original install CD?

I want to get a new unit, but I have a lot of questions. For instance, I already have a 17 inch monitor, so I can keep that. If I do a computer-to-computer transfer, how do I know what's going on, if I only have one monitor?

Maybe I just need to go to the computer store and buttonhole someone there......

Yeah!!! I got a new laptop last month and I love it. Now dh can be at the desk top and I can be anywhere, even out by the pool and still be online! I hope you get everything transferred to the new puter soon.

I know it takes time, but eventually you'll have the puter set up just the way you want, best of luck and don't sweat it, it WILL get done.

I've got to un-hook mine, move and hook-up again, never did that, so wish me luck as well. YIKES!

There is a program called "Intellimover". It has a wire connected to the old and new puter. It worked for me and the transfer was done in minutes. I bought it from Tiger Direct. That is a Mail Order firm located in Miami.
