Default Carnival Paradise out of Long Beach

We are sailing on May 1.
I got lots of great ideas from this board, what a great place...thanks!
It doesn't seem like this is a "popular" ship, it's hard to find much info. about past cruises and this ship.
Anyone ever sail on the Paradise out of LB?
I still have absolutely no idea what excursions to do in Catalina and Encenada, nothing seems appealing exept the wineries in Mexico.

I am just excited to be getting away!

Sandy

Sandy, I have sailed the Paradise (back when she was a non-smoking ship), but not out of Long Beach. If you'd like to read a detailed review, with photos, do a Search on Chit Chat, look for the post titled "Paradise Found" by "rollerdonna" from July 2004. It should tell you everything you want to know about the Paradise, except for the itinerary from Long Beach!

I just came back from the west coast, although I cruised RCI, we went to those same ports. If you go to Ship Reviews, Reader Reviews, Royal Carribean, Monarch of the Seas and scroll down to Darcy Lowe's review you can read what we did in Catalina Island and Ensenada. We had a great time in both ports.

Sandy, the winery tour is a great value in Ensenada.

Here is an article I did about Catalina to give you some ideas for there:

I just got back from a 4 day Mexico cruise on RCCL, basically same Itinerary.

In catalina you can rent a golf cart for 35 dollars an hour and the 3rd hour is free. I highly suggest doing that.

We didnt pick anything to do in Ensenada, cant help you there.

Just about any place you go in Mexico is the same - shop for serapes, cheap liquor, etc.

I di suggest you go to Long Beach a day early and stay at the Queen Mary hotel. Then you can walk to the ship from your hotel room.
