Default Last U.S. Titanic survivor dies

BOSTON, Massachusetts (AP) -- Lillian Gertrud Asplund, the last American survivor of the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, has died, a funeral home said Sunday. She was 99.

Yeah, saw that article. She was also the last one to have any memories of the event. There are other survivors but they were too young to remember anything.

This woman, lived not too far from where I work. There was a major obituary in the papers today..It sounds like she had a good, but solitary life...Sad, when the last of an era disappears.
