Default Your ultimate cruise??

What would be your ultimate cruise?

My wife and I want to cruise from NZ, Australia back to the states.

The absolute would be a world cruise.
Can you imagine the laundry bill, and how about the tips and shore excursions? Need to start buying lottery tickets.

Oh what the heck, spend our daughters inheritance. Who earned this money anyway?

Come on now, fantasize.

hmmmm. for starters it would have to be a Penthouse/Presidental Suite on a small luxury line. I would want my ports to include, Australia, New Zealand, and the French Polyenesian Islands. Oh and we would stay more than one day on each island, maybe 2-3 days.

Hi all,
I wanted to put a little more detail in it. My Ultimate cruise is a 22 day Med cruise. I love to fantasy cruise. I like this cruise because it ends in Lisbon Portugal I could visit family.
Ship: Crystal Serenity

Ports of Call: Piraeus (Athens), Greece; Split, Croatia; Venice, Italy; Sorrento, Italy; Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy; Livorno (Florence), Italy; Monte Carlo, Monaco; Barcelona, Spain; Cadiz (Seville), Spain; Casablanca, Morocco; Las Palmas, Canary Islands; Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain; Funchal (Madeira), Portugal; Lisbon, Portugal

2006 Departure Date(s): Oct 24
I would get the Crystal Penthouse suite for 2 people it's only $49,210. Come on Lotto ticket.

Default Your Ultimate Cruise?

I guess we're already discussing our ultimate cruise for our 35th wedding aniversary in '08. That would be a 21-day cruise to South America going around the Cape and into Antartica. I know CruiseMates is doing a similar cruise, but it doesn't go into Antartica enough for Keith and it doesn't go to Rio for me. We're still considering it, though.

This is probably going to sound strange to most, except those who know me, but I would love to cruise up or down the Mississippi. I'm not even sure there is such a thing, but there would be so many great places to stop, and see.

Definitely a world cruise!!

Our plans are to retire and then immediately leave on a world cruise.

Steve, don't worry about tips and laundry as they would be included (if you cruised Regent). So would free internet and booze.

Maybe better than a world cruise is an extended (forever?) stay onboard. Think of how nice it would be enjoy the world and not have to worry about doing anything for yourself.

Marc, That sounds like the "World" ship. Is that what you have in mind?

Any warm destination for 1 month at most in a real sail boat or schooner complete with crew and gourmet chef who specializes in seafood. I'm easy.

Luanne:

I was thinking more of Seven Seas Voyager. The World doesn't really appeal to me since it is too laid back. I might change my mind if I tried it, though.

Right now, a world cruise sounds about right. I think I can most definitely handle 120 days on the same ship without becoming the least bit bored....

My dream cruise would be the following-

Ship- Vista class HAL ship OR RCCL Radiance

Los Angeles, San Diego, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco, Panama Canal, Grand Cayman, Ft.Lauderdale, New York, London, Rome, then take the same route back.

Imagine the money needed for that cruise

Luanne - FYI - there is or was a company called the Mississippi Steamboat Company that did exactly what you are looking for. They had two ships the Mississippi Queen and the Delta Queen, don't know if they are still around.

The Delta Queen Steamboat Company is alive and well and doing cruises all year long. The American Queen is the largest steamboat ever built.

You can go to their website at

http://www.deltaqueen.com/

Take care,
Mike

I think I could handle a world cruise pretty well. Asia, So. America, and Australia/New Zealand are on my list so a world cruise might take in those places! :-)

A couple of months onboard would be fine, I could do it!
