I too have a simple sign posted on my door. If they come anyways, I ask them if they have the proper permit to go door to door in my neighborhood. Most don't know you are supposed to do that first. If they don't, I ask them to leave our sub or I do have the right to phone the police. It also amazes me that they think the sign posted doesn't include them!
I never have called, but some are so annoying, I've been tempted.
I know they just are making a living, but if I'm interested I will find you. Don't come after me. That includes emails, phonecalls, or even PM's. Now you can't even walk through the mall without at least 4 people chasing you.
I just think we get way too much pushed at us...
My two cents...

If I'm not expecting anyone, I just don't answer the door. Its not safe for a woman alone to open a door to a stranger.

Now if we only do something about all of the recorded political messages and mail that inundates us . . . .
This is SO true! Unfortunately, during our last election, "someone" who was not affiliated with one of the candidates set up a recorded message that called a lot of people, irritating the h**l out of them! Many people were very upset to have the "candidate" call them!
We had three calls for him, and they weren't "real". There should be some way to stop these calls!
