Default There is no such thing as dumb question.

In April of 2001 some guy asked this question:

Are aft balconies more noisy than other balconies? I am thinking of booking one for my next cruise but I don't want to be kept awake by the noise of the wake. What has been your experience with aft balcony cabins?"

Thanks,
M&M"

That "some guy" was me. I've been in the "bowels" of the Cruisemates ship working on clean up and found this. I was hoping to find the "Can I bring alcohol on board" question but I haven't found it.

It just shows all of us were new cruisers at one point and the only way you learn is to ask those who have done it or to do it yourself.

Take care,
Mike[/i]

I asked so many questions last year in Chat that they all had to take pain relievers. I was Queen of the questions. The question you ask, might be the one someone else wanted to ask, but was afraid it was strange. Ask away on here.!!!

Mike, Inquiring minds want to know. Is the aft any noiser then a balcony?
Well, our experience is that the inside is noisy! Yes thats right.
On our very first cruise, I booked an inside. Little did I know it was next to and above the engines. Did'nt get a wink of sleep for the ' thump, thump' of the turibins and prop turning. From there after we only stayed in balconys.
I love it.
Never a dumb question. The staff and friends here are always will ing to help.

Well:

I booked an aft balcony and now I book one every time I can. There is some wake noise the lower the cabin is to the water line but I have been as low as deck four and it hasn't bothered me. It is basically a "white noise".

There is a bit of vibration when going in and out of ports and on Norwegian Sky there was some pitch but I didn't notice it, except when I sat on the bed and watched the ocean disappear and reappear.

Take care,
Mike formerly known as M&M

And I find that I STILL have questions. I think that no matter how much I cruise, there will always be something I need to know from the more experienced cruisers on this board.

Mike, I find it hard to believe you were ever a "newbie" asking "dumb" questions! You alone have answered more of my questions, especially regarding posting and photos, than everyone else combined. I owe all of my fun on cruisemates to you Mike!
