Has anyone been to Myrtle Beach lately, or live there? My friend is interested in going there for their honeymoon and they were looking into the Long Bay Resort. THanks

I haven't been since I was a kid. I'll bet it is really built up now. Have fun.

Yeah, I was there in 2000 but haven't been back since and was only there for 2 nights on the weekend..didn't get to see much.

1) is the Long Bay a nice hotel and how is the location to where everything else is, ie the pavilion, broadway at the beach, etc.

2) how is the weather in the middle of September?

3) Is it worthwhile to go to Barefoot landing?

hi

Mid September most of the time is beautiful. Starting to cool down at night less crowded. Might have a hurricane since it still will be hurricane season.

I am not sure of distances.

I like broadway better than barefoot. However; they have many of the same shops.

Here is a link for the resort http://www.longbayresort.com/

hope this helps some.

I worked there one summer back in the 80's at a place called "The Afterdeck". Haven't been there since..... it's probably changed a wee small bit.

We've beeb going to Myrtle Beach every April for years. It is crowded but in the shoulder season (fall and spring) it isn't too bad. We stay in a condo on the Beach. There is also another wonderful beach 10 minutes south. It is part of a state park, Huntington Beach State Park. It's a beautiful beach that you can walk on for miles. There are great restaurants in Murrell's Inlet which is also just south of Myrtle Beach. My husband and I really love this area. There is plenty to do.
