Good Morning CruiseMates!!!! Another beautiful summer day here in NH's Lakes Region. I took over a friends computer to say hello to my favorite cruise addicts. I have been busy house sitting for a friend and no hookup for my computer there. I will be moving soon and have my computer set up soon. I have missed you all very much. Patty is fine and says hello to all. I got lucky this week and have off today and tomorrow. I hope to get to the fireworks tonight at Weirs Beach. Have a great 4th CruiseMates. For all the Canadian Mates I exrend a belated Happy Canada Day.
Good morning Laura, Patty and all the CM's to follow. I think very few people had to work today, judging by the lack of cars on the road today. I was supposed to be one of those lucky people, but it didn't quite work out...so here I am! We will have a skelaton crew here today. Maybe, I can get a lot accomplished. I hope! It is to be rainy and storm here today and tomorrow. We made quite a bit of progress on the wall this weekend. Gary is off today and may try to get a bit more done between storms. I'm hoping go home early today...we will see! I hope you all have a great day.

Good morning from Orlando. I'm also off to work this morning and also hoping for a quiet day. DD and I went to see The Devil Wears Prada yesterday....it was okay....I enjoyed the book more than the film but it was a nice afternoon out with a little shopping afterward. We found great hats to wear to a hat party next Sunday afternoon.....we may have to go to the Kentucky derby next year!
Location: Wisconsin....about 100 miles south of the Frozen Tundra and 70 miles east of Camp Randall
Good morning everyone from someone who not only has to work today, but had to work all this past weekend. My only day off is TOMORROW! lol But I get paid for it, so I'm not complaining too loudly. I could take another day off, but right now I do like the extra day of pay on my check.
Not much going on here......................have a great day everyone!

Hi There, Everybody!
So far the sun is out in Avon Park, FL but there will be those afternoon showers/t-storms heading our way. The high will be about 90-ish.
Yesterday during a very rainy afternoon our power flickered a couple of different times--several hours apart so my computer turned off for a couple of seconds. That was disconcerting, since I was composing wonderly crafted posts.
It's work for me, too, so it will be a normal day. July 4 used to be a skeletal crew day with no activities planned, but this new boss of mine seems to schedule in entertainment on holidays. She'll be the one working tomorrow.
Good Morning CMs, A quiet weekend for us, just too hot and humid to go out. Our son and his family moved over the weekend from SC to ALA, I want to call later to see how it went. Hoping the grand children will adjust easily. At least they will be closer to other family members now. DS starts a new job too. Its going to be another H&H day in SE Florida.Enjoy the day.
Morning All, from Montreal, where I am very tired this morning, recovering from a very long drive home from Nova Scotia yesterday. Our Canada Day holiday was last Friday, and since I was on vacation, I missed the day off!
Hope you all enjoy your day off if you have one, and a very happy 4th for tomorrow!
Good Morning all from the now shut down state of NJ. The standoff between the Governor and members of his own party over the deficit continues. Right now the lottery is shut down, no motor vehicle services, and the casinos, horse tracks and state parks and beaches will close on Wednesday.
Marj and I tilled out a new flower bed in our very wild back yard. The tiller probably scared our moles and voles into the next county. Today I will be making a run for additional supplies and do some more work if it doesn't rain.
Everyone have a great day!!!

It was an enjoyable weekend. We went to my niece's graduation party on Saturday. From their my sister, BIL, Betty and I made a spontaneous decision to head to Lake Mille Lacs. So we packed up an overnight bag, hooked up the boat and went fishing. We stayed at a small resort on the lake in a very "spartan" cabin but what the heck, we had fun. Betty caught fish, actually she caught the biggest. A 24" Walleye. I had to "fish" Kramer out of the lake once. The dog can hunt but he can't swim worth a dang. I hope everyone has a great July 4th week.

Late start here, been trying to get some stuff done. Cleaned out my freezer. Took a garbage bag of stuff out for the garbage man. Now that we took our first load of stuff for the church yard sale, I really feel like weeding out. Won't have too much time this week to do it really well, as I have to get ready for my ds grad party on Sunday, but I'm going to make a valiant effort. My goal is 3 Jeeps full. All ready about a quarter of the way to the second load.
Lots of paper work today. Yikes, how I hate it. Wish someone else would express a wish to take this job over, but no one wants to or is qualified to do it. I could use a mental break.
Yesterday had an impromptu BBQ at my sisters. Then looked at dvd's of Wedding pictures from their daughter's big day last week. Then we walked to the end of the street to watch the fireworks from our ususal spot. We were amazed they would even do them as the winds were so strong. I would say over 20 mph, sustained. It was insane. Where we sat on the hill the wind pushed the flaming debris right toward us. We did have some burned out stuff hit us, and flaming stuff fall pretty close, but as we walked toward my mom and sister's homes we picked up lots of debris that had fallen all around their homes and our cars. My mom was nervous as burning debris kept falling on her roof. Good thing we have had so much rain as it probably kept fires from starting on the roofs.
They were beautiful, we probably should have gone to safer grounds, but it was almost surreal. It felt like you were at an Imax .
Tomorrow is the local country bumpkin parade. Kinda hokey, but makes you feel like part of the community.
From steamy Boston...I have food up the wazoo, marinating in the fridge, for a cookout for my grandaughters birthday.I bought her some goodies, and beaded her a necklace..hope she smiles
Mike, my two sons went fishing last night at the Cape Cod Canal, till around 3 am this morning, I hope they can stand up at the cookout
Here is a quick recipe for a side dish I am about to make..I don't measure, so do this to taste....
Cut and boil carrot slices till soft
slice up an onion, and green pepper
mix together with sugar, and vinegar and one can of tomato soup and let sit for a few hours, salt peper, and garlic salt to taste.
voila, you have a tasty side dish, that surprises all who taste it
Make it a good one.
Trip, with her book & tea!

I think it is good morning for you but in Firenze it is afternoon. I have to call my DH to let him know I am ok. There was a problem at the Florence airport and it was closed. Accident or something. Did anyone see on the news?
This keyboard is hard to use. I am very tired. I cannot get onto AOL.
Ultimately, the only power to which a man should aspire is that which he exercises over himself.
Should be another quiet day here in N Texas. Our local fireworks display isn't until tomorrow and will be at the Air Force Base but also have a chance of rain. Hope rains don't affect the "party" at the base since they just do it every other year and have a lot going on for the community besides the fireworks.
I got our Miniature Schnauzer booked in at the kennel for the December cruise! May seem like a bit early but one of our country music radio stations is getting the cruise tour together so no idea how many from here are going plus just found out that an Indian Casino about 20 miles from us is giving away cruises to 30 couples on the same trip so decided I had better get our pup a spot before they were all gone!
It sounds like a lot of you are having to work today as are some of my family. DH had to go to his volunteer job today and many of our "kids" (dd, sil, dgd etc) work at the prison, hospital or police dept so don't get days off either like most of the regular work force.
Another good morning from the Houston area! All this rain! Yesterday we had an explosion at the Exxonmobil plant a couple miles from my house. All the windows in my house shook! Startled me! My DH works at the research center onsite there, luckily he is in Holland on business! Thankfully no one was injured and they had the fire under control immediately. Have a great pre-fourth day!

Good morning from sunny hot WI. We are due to get some storms later today. We could use some rain, but the timing could be bad for the fireworks.
We sat on our deck last night, and watched the fireworks that our little town had. Not bad for a small town. Folks had their chairs lined up along the street before sunrise yesterday for the parade. You would think it was the RoseBowl parade. I love the community spirit in this little town! Tonight we're going in to eat at a restaurant on Lake Michigan and watch the big fireworks display from there. Should be fun if we survive the traffic mess, and the storms don't blow in.
Congratulations to Betty on the big fish. I wish someone would take me fishing. Sounds like lots of fun.
ML, I'm glad to hear the wall is coming along. You both will need a cruise when you are finished. :-)
Good morning from hot and sunny Southern California. Temps reached 105 yesterday, a far cry from 80 in Newport Beach.
We are home again. I was surprised, but I guess I needed that two-day respite, mentally anyway. I already miss the pretty view from the room, the good food that I didn't have to cook, and having somebody bring my car to me. But now it's back to reality: gym day for Keith, house cleaning and paying bills for me.
The house never did cool off properly. I still say the a/c isn't working correctly, but get my head chewed off if I say it aloud.
Nice to see so many posters. Have a good day, CM's.
I recently returned from visiting my daughter at college. She is in summer school and will get her Bachelor's degree in marketing in August. We are all very happy about it. She will start working on her Masters degree in business shortly after.
It is a beautiful, hot day here in Texas.
I hope all of you have a wonderful and safe Fourth of July.
