I don't see a good morning thread yet so I hope I did not miss. I feel I am losing my English by being here in Italy. Last week was rough with time change. I will post pictures from the world cup street celebrations in Florence.
I just bought a really neat bunch of things from an old book shop. Two small children books, postcards and a small book that my sister will love. I also bought two new art books at another shop. The price was very reasonable. I had the most delicious gelato last night. My co-woker here told me about a ship she performed on. I have to find out about it. A small ship with lots of culture that I think some of you will appreciate. Only 700 passengers and it sails in the Med Any idea what it could be? Getting back to cleaning dog hair will be a challange.
Ultimately, the only power to which a man should aspire is that which he exercises over himself.
Good morning, Karen and all the CM's to follow. Karen, how neat to be in Italy amidst all the celebrating! Yesterday was a longggg day. I worked until 8:30 p.m. and am back in the office now. Maybe I should have just stayed over last night, NOT!!!! The City of Pittsburgh is basking int he limelight with the All Star game tonight. The weather looks "iffy". I hope you all have a great day.

We finally got some rain last night, the only problem is that it came when I was trying to work out in my flower garden. I had about another 1/2 hour of work when the rains came, so it will wait for another day.
We've got a couple of tickets for a ball game tonight, but I don't know if the weather is going to cooperate. The tickets were free so it won't be a big deal if we blow it off.
I have a feeling that I may be tired ALL DAY. I went to be bed early enough (10:30) but while surfing the tube before my drifting off to slumber, I chanced upon the movie on AMC-"The Great Escape". Yes, I've seen it before, too, but not in a long time. By the time it was over, and after all the commercial breaks, it was 2AM!!!!! I kept closing my eyes during the break. Trevor was in dreamland way before then! I was using the headphones.
Nothing else of real value to report except that I beat Trevor at 2 games of Scrabble last night. He hates that!
Hazy, hot and humid here, with thunderstorms on tap for later in the day. Hope they hold off so I can get in a little pool time after work this afternoon.
Haven't been able to really post since Friday. Spent most of Friday, and all day Saturday preparing for ds grad party and the festival at church. By the time the guests arrived on Sunday I wasn't feeling well. We had a beautiful day - about 90 degrees, the pool got quite a lot attention!
I thought I had prepared way too much food, but really the guests (between 75 and 100 so much coming and going I really lost track) really ate a lot. Then we had people stopping back over yesteday to swim and et as they knew there were some left overs. Today we will finish those off, then I guess its back to cooking. Since the repairman for the grill doesn't come til Thursday, guess I'll have to do it inside.
As long as it gets fixed for Friday - when all the teens from Church come over for the annual pool party/bbq.
Karen - sounds like you are really enjoying your time in Italy. I recently read a book called Sisterchicks in Gondolas. In the book one of the main characters decided to try and keep score of all the different gelato's she tried. Sounds like something I'd love to try. Enjoy every minute, cuz as you said, reality will soon be knocking at your door.
ML - you deserve a vacation, you've really been working hard lately
Morning All, from Montreal where we're having much the same weather as eddie and VTJen. Thunderstorms last night just as I went out to walk the dog, high humidity all night, 22C and humid this morning (71F) and going up to 28C (82F) later today with showers expected again. Very muggy out there right now. Typical Montreal July day.....
Nothing exciting happening here, except I have booked a "girls' weekend" at my girlfriend's in Belleville Ontario. She is halfway between me and my other girlfriend in Toronto Ont. so the 3 of us will meet in the middle for a weekend of sun, pool, and copious amounts of wine! Sounds like a plan!
I have returned from a week in the wilderness of Northern Minnesota. We had a WONDERFUL time camping with our granddaughter. She caught the largest fish on her Snoopy rod and reel. A 22 inch walleye. That translates to about six pounds. We had perfect weather, great fishing and beautiful scenery and trails to walk. All of us had a great time.
I was very sad to come home to see that Steve's (Y2C) wife had passed away. She was a wonderful lady. I also came home to find that my aunt here in Minnesota passed away on Saturday morning.
Well: I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!!!!

Good morning from Southern California. Toasty still.
Karen, mmmmm, gelato! I love chocolate! I'm envious of you having that delicious ice cream in Italy, though.
ML, hope you cool it and don't burn out on the job.
Mike, nice to see you back. Glad you had a good time.
I had a nice time in Monday Night Chat. Hope your 'puter gets well so that you can get in, Trip.
