Default Two Things That Make Me Crazy!

The first is our local newspaper. When there is a hole-in-one at a golf course, they report it as a hole-in-one. When there are multiples, they report them as hole-in-ones. That's like saying Secretary-of-States. Or mother-in-laws.

The other is the spelling of the word "definitely". It's not "definately" folks.

Am I a purist? Probably. Flame Away!

2. People who get extremely mad when they lose money in the casino... and then insist they are a brilliant card player and the other people are the reasons they lost...

1. people who drive in the bike lane to avoid half of the speed hump.
2. people who insist on talking while a speaker is giving a class. If you're not interested just drift away quietly. The rest of us might be trying to learn something.

No flames here!

Using "me" instead of "I". "Pootersdad and "I" booked a cruise! It's so easy, just drop "Pootersdad and". You wouldn't say "Me booked a cruise"!

"Aks" instead of "ask"!

My very favorite: "Two twin beds"! That would be four (4) beds! (BTW, Princess lists this as an option on their website!)

People who talk in movie theatres (during the movie).

People who kissy-wissy smoochy-woochy during the movie. GET A ROOM.

People who eat and make loud EATING NOISES (like PIGS snuffling at a trough, during the movie)

/hates the movie experience, but Alas! loves movies.....

2. Idiot drivers on the road that pass you on the road and immediately slow down to turn right!!!

This drives me insane!!
People who park in handicap designated spaces that do not need them.
People who park in the striped off place beside a handicap designated space. that space is provided for the loading and unloading of wheelchairs and is not a legal parking spot.

One thing that makes me crazy is people who over-react and I drive them crazy when I under-react.

What definately makes me crazy is when my husband and me go golfing and he gets holes in ones and than I bring the ball back to him.

What... me sarcastic? Never!

I am making light of things to cover up for my own persistent, grammatical errors.

the handicapped parking thing also gets to me, and also the abuse of that placard or sticker by a family member who is obviously able-bodied.

The incorrect use of the words "who" and "that". i.e. It is Jane THAT (incorrect) can't decide which cruise to book.

Also misusing LAY and LIE. i.e. I'm going to LAY (wrong!) down on the deck chair.

1) People using the word "un-thaw". First I don't think it's a word, and to UN thaw something would be to freeze it!
2) People who come into my work (vet clinic) with freshly professionally manicured nails and toes, and fancy purses, shoes, and cars, who then tell me they can't afford to do basic healthcare services for their pets! Grrrrr

People who mispronounce the word HEIGHT! it is not HEIGTH. How did that ever start? DH laughs at me because even the news casters who usually have a great vocabulary say heigth, and I yell at them to say it correctly.

Really? I don't think I've ever heard it said that way - maybe it's a local/regional thing?

How about this one -
With all due respect to W - it's NOOK-LEE-ER, not NOOK-YA-LER!!!

I'll add to the car driving crazies list;

1. People who pull out in front of me and slow down only to speed up at the light. They make the light but I have to wait for it to change.

2. Although I've lost some of my edge grammatically over the years, I still have trouble with the me, myself and the who versus what scenerios. I was taught that it is "Jane, who", rather than "Jane, that". News anchors do that wrong alot.
Staying with grammar-the one I hear the most in my immediate family and others who I think are educated, is, "I seen......." instead of "I saw". It drives me up the wall and makes them sound ignorant.
