I have been out for awhile...

Hello my great friends. I have been gone for awhile due to God's will. I was working a second job on the night of the night of the 27th of July. I was parked on the I-45 freeway, going to Galveston, and there were 8 people on foot in front of me. My partner and I had closeed 4 miles of the inside two lanes of the freeway for construction work. At 2:30 am, I reclined my seat slightly and closed me eyes for a moment.

Next thing I recall was a crashing of glass to my right and I opened my eyes to see a fireman coming into my car. Another fireman had cut my driver's door off at the hinges and removed it. They said to take it easy that I had been involved in an accident and that the Life Flight helicopter was there to take me to the hospital.

All said and done.... I had been hit from behind by a driver who was allegedly intoxicated and he hit me at 80+ MPH. Remember, I was parked. If I had not been there, people would have lost their lives.

My liver has been resectioned, my lung was perforated, neck vertabrae broken, back vertebrae broken, right shoulder broken in 3 places, face had staples in it and numerous bruises. My car was completely demolished and all have said it is amazing that I am alive. I looked at the car a couple of days ago... in the driver's seat where I was... I found a prayer card with Jesus' picture on it... He left a calling card to remind me .

Today, I am living with my sister as I have to have 24 hr care, cancelled the cruise , and today is the first chance I have had to get online.

I am grateful for my God and all of my friends. I will stay in touch.

Michael, I am so sorry to hear about this tragic accident. I give my thanks to God that you are alive. He certainly was looking out for you. I'm sure that it was your guardian angel that left the calling card for you. I know that our angels are with us as I have had my own experiences with them.

Michael regarding our recent debate about underage drinking I must say there was no reason to go to such great lengths to make your point. I stand corrected, you win! I hope your recovery goes well and that your back to normal soon! Are your doctors expecting a full recovery? Everything ok with your spine I pray you have no deficits? Please check in as often as you can hopefully we can all keep your spirits up. How sad. I am glad you made it through and I too hope you will make a full recovery. What are the doctors saying? i hope they pressed charges against the driver. Drinking and driving is a BIG no no! prayers are going out to you!

Man arrested for striking deputy's vehicle



Galveston County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man Aug. 2 in connection with a collision three days earlier that seriously injured a Harris County Sheriff's deputy.

Around 2:20 a.m. July 29, Galveston County Sheriff's deputies responded to an accident on Interstate 45 near Exit 19, south of League City.

According to the Galveston County sheriff's reports, a vehicle driven by a Galveston man rear-ended a parked car in a construction zone, pushing it forward about 70 feet. An off-duty Harris County sheriff's deputy assisting with traffic control was inside the parked car, which had its emergency lights on at the time of the wreck.

The deputy was taken to Hermann Hospital in Houston by LifeFlight helicopter.

The suspect, who was not injured, was charged with intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury.

Please tell me there are more charges filed!

Fellow Texas, so glad you are on the recovery road.

Although many people say there is no God or Angels, sounds like both were riding with you that night. My prayers are with you for a speedy and FULL recovery.

Keep us informed about your progress. Don't get frustrated about length of recovery. It is easy to get depressed after a tragedy like this. Sounds like the Lord wants to keep you "with us" for awhile. Us Texans have got to stick together !!!!!!!
