Default I woke up to find my picture on the front page of the paper

Sat down this morning with my coffee and the newspaper, only to find me staring at myself on the front page of our local newspaper.
http://www.canada.com/calgaryherald/...e88505&k=34404
We've sold our hotel, bar and surrounding land to the City of Calgary, so there's big changes coming for my life. Anyone offer a moose a good job?

With two kids in college, I unfortunately won't be retiring, but will be looking for a new "career" path... no idea what! So, at 56 a pretty significant change in my life is about to occur.

It's a mixed bag of emotions...happy, sad, excited, afraid. Life gets even more interesting

Congratulations on the sale, Kuki! Somehow I don't think you will have a problem finding a new career path. You seem to be a very multi-talented person. In any case we're here to cheer you on through all of the ups and downs.

Good luck with what ever path you choose. I'm sure you'll be successful at anything you try.

Personally, I think you should get into the cruise travel industry writing reviews that things like that. Is there such a job? With all of your experience, your a shoe in.

Wow Kuki!!! You must truly have mixed feelings. You were so proud of your little piece of Heaven. I do wish you all the luck in the world, at whatever you decide to do.

Are you planning to stay in the area, or can we count on you being one of us in America soon?

Good Luck!!!

Luanne

Congratulations!! Ooooooo, I just love options and you will have so many to choose from. I can imagine the emotions have run the gamut and will continue to do so, for a while.

A new career path will be exciting and I don't doubt that you will be very successful. What a great opportunity.

Thanks all for the good wishes!

Interesting, today almost all the media outlets in the city (tv, radio, etc) were down to talk to me and to our patrons.

Funny that the tradition that exists here has actually been deemed important enough to cover, afterall bars and open and close every day.

That may be true, Kuki, but how many of the other bars have been run by a Moose?

Congrats on selling the bar!!!!

As for second career, would you be able to get a green card in US? Or, might you have to become an "illegal worker?"

Oh Jean You didn't just say that. I read the article, and thought "who is that guy" I think it's cute "Morris the Moose"

I think this has been the best kept secret on Cruisemates. Now if we can find out his golf score, we will have something there.

My "real name" has been on the site since day 1. All you had to do was look at "About Us" and "Meet the Staff".

As to my golf score... I'm a moose, not a Tiger

Kuki, congrats on the sale and the big changes coming your way. Now please tell me the hotel/bar won't close immediately, because I always wanted to come to Calgary just to sample those ribs that everyone raves about! I guess I'd better hurry up!

Congratulations on the sale of your hotel. A multi talented moose will have no problem finding a new career. I think I heard they were going to start producing Rocky and Bullwinkle again.................possibly??? Seriously I wish you the best in whatever you choose to do.

Kuki:

I think it's the right decision. With everything that's happened and the deterioration of the area you don't need the hassle nor the problems with you or your family and employees safety.

It was also darn nice of you to sell it to the city instead of a private developer. You should get a plaque out of the deal.

Then again you could keep the place and buy yourself a long coat, a Superfly hat and cut yourself in on 50% of the action. (Pure joke)

I KNOW you would never do that.

You'll be successful at anything you do. You are a true entrepreneur.

Take care,
Mike
