Good morning from Orlando. I heard the sonic booms this morning telling us the space shuttle made it back safe and sound.
It's supposed to be cooler with less humidity today.....I'll believe it when I feel it!

Mornin' everybody,

It's a brisk 42F outside, so it looks like fall is on the way. It also looks like rain is in the forecast for the weekend.

My boss is having me inventory all of the tools, cabinets, pieces of equipment in my shop, so it looks like our department is moving. We are just waiting for the big shots' approval. It was nice while it lasted, but all good things must come to an end. I hope a good job comes up before the end of the year.

Have a great day!

Good morning everyone:

Sorry for dozing off on chat last night. No reflection on the conversation, I just do that sometimes.

Yesterday we had a bit of interesting news, it looks like Betty will have to get her gall bladder yanked out. She's been having problems for a few months and she had her last test done just before we went to Rochester and had a friend of ours do a second opinion on the results and sure enough it's gotta go. This morning we're meeting with the doc to set up a time and ask some questions. These days it's a pretty easy surgery so it shouldn't interfere with anything. I wanted my daughter to do the surgery to get around the co-pay but darn it she or Betty won't go for it. I don't think Betty liked the idea of barking and panting and changing her name to "Fluffy".

Otherwise: It's just another fall day. The colors are really starting to turn.

Have a great Thursday.
Mike

Good morning all from the sunshine state,
We heard the sonic BOOM of the shuttle here to.
Wow what a great mission it was. I followed it every day. Looks like we may have a new place to visit once all the cruises are done.
Yea, right.. if you have the million or so bucks and pass their training.
They say we will be on the moon again.

I enjoyed the chat last night with all the Century friends.
Get your photos in the gallery,so we can see your fancy faces.
Have a great day

One last thing in regard to the shuttle mission. My granddaughter's new idol is Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper. She is referred to as Heidemarie Piper. The full name is too hard for her. Sorry.

She is a local high school graduate so she is getting extensive TV coverage and my granddaughter has been completely obsessed with having a girl in space. I've had to show her the NASA site with her pictures and the space walk. She got frustrated because they didn't have pictures of her kids.

I think it's neat that she became inspired over this. Much better than being inspired over Paris Hilton.

Take care,
Mike

Mike, you are TOO funny! Your poor wife! Sincerely I pray all will go well and she is feeling better soon.

I'm off to work.

Good Morning All,

Cool but sunny today. Had lots of rain last night. DH got called out to help in another district, something to do with the fiber optics for cable being out - don't know how that involved electric, but anyway he was gone from about 7 pm til 1 am then back out to help finish the job at 6 this morning - they will work til it is complete.

Off to work in a bit. Then home to do a little cleaning. Son's ex girlfriend is coming tonight, has to come home from college to get something repaired on her car. Not sure if she will stay here or not. It will be nice to have some company for awhile - even if she stays just long enough to watch Survivor.

Mike - best wishes to Betty - hope the surgery can be scheduled soon

Hope you all have a nice day.

Good Morning from Central Texas where it is nice this morning.
I got a call this morning about working today, and the teacher said "you sound worse than I do" I guess I don't sound all that great, I didn't get to sleep until after 2:00 this morning. I also have a sick child. What's the saying? "What doesn't kill you, will make you stronger." I think today will be re-group day.

Thanks for all the good advice and encouragement last night, and this morning. I think things will work out. We consider this a wake up call. Hubby told me that the only reason the Dr. put him on the pills, was because he was going to Iraq, and might not always have the right foods. That makes me feel better. It is a life style change, and we can do it.

I hope everyone has a great day. Hold someone, and tell them you love them. If you can't hold them, then call and say it.

Eddie, I hope things work out for you at work. There is not a Sunday that goes by that I don't think of you at your game. I was not a fan of your team, until I met you, and now I cheer for them for you.

Mike, I am so glad you are posting more now. I really miss you when you are gone.

Hi Mike: You're sure lucky that surgery for gall bladder has come so far. It used to be a MAJOR deal, and now, as you stated it's not such a big thing. I'm sure Betty will do just fine, and be feeling much better soon.
WOW, can you imagine anyone considering Paris Hilton as their idol? BUMMER.
Three days 'till the Mariner of the Seas. The lovely Mrs Jones (Vita) and I are ready.
Fall is in the air here in Central Florida this A.M. Feels Great!

Morning All, from a chilly Montreal, at 7C that's only 44F! Sun's out though, and leaves are changing colour, so it's a nice Fall day.

Mike, sorry to hear Betty has to undedgo surgery, but I can understand her reservations about having your Dr. daughter do the surgery!
Also, your granddaughter has the right idea about heroes and role models!

Doug, you got a great shot of the champagne waterfall!
I was several stories up and all my pics were too dark!

Good morning from swfl where we also had the sonic boom waking us up.

I had my gallbladder removed when it was mayor surgery and right before we flew from germany to the USA. I was in mayor pain and still had staples in. Not nice. But now they do it by laser and it seems to be very easy to do.

This morning I have to see the docotr to get my 2nd shot in a series of 3 for my Africa trip. Yesterday I went and bought more stuff at the store for the kids there and a few items we need to bring. Today I have to pick up our Maleria meds also. Busy busy busy

Have a wonderful day mates!

Good morning gang from AR. Cool this AM and fall seems to be in the air.

Mike....tell your dear wife Betty, the gall bladder surgery is a piece of cake. I had mine out this past April and was up and about in about a day or two. Only bad part of the surgery was we missed the "Rock the Locks Cruise" as it was done three days before we were scheduled to leave for FL.

Last night was the kickoff for Hot Springs Village Concerts Association series for 2006-2007 with the Glenn Miller Orchestra under the direction of Larry O'Brien. What a treat to listen to music I grew up with and boy are they good. . Show started at 7:30 PM and was over at 9:50 PM with a 20 minute intermission. A large group performed with 19 people in all including the vocalists and the band leader.

Everybody have a great day.

Good morning all from a frosty, yes frosty MN. The last 2 nights we have had light frost which pretty much took care of the cukes in the garden. Oh well, guess we've had our fill of them for now. It's suppose to warm up to around 60 today so that will be great again. Rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow though.

Mike, sorry to hear of Betty having gall bladder surgery. It is so much easier now a days but still a surgery.

Have a good day everyone

Karen

Good Morning cruisemates! Cool air moving into Calgary today.. with highs maybe reaching 50F.

Hoping today will be a bit calmer day than yesterday at work.

Mike.. hope Betty's surgery is quick and painless. You two keep this up you may just have to turn the house into a hospital, and start hiring doctors away from the Mayo.

Now don't get confused and start putting Mayo on the doctors
