Three Prides, at least two Mariners, Navigators, and Voyagers. There are a couple of Explorers, a couple of Spirits, and a few others that I can't remember right now. The only thing that doesn't exist is originality when it comes to naming ships.

The 2 freedoms are:
Freedom of the Seas by RCCL
Freedom,by Carnival, not yet built.
I think Kuki might have more info on them.

Sue,

Now that we are booked on the Freedom I just realized they have 2 of the same ship names? That's strange

No. One ship's name is Freedom of the Seas and the other ship's name is Carnival Freedom.

Let's get in the habit of using each ship's full name, rather than shorthand, to avoid confusion as these new ships enter service.

Norm.

Marc,

Three Prides, at least two Mariners, Navigators, and Voyagers.

No, there are ships named

>> Pride of Hawa'i, Pride of Aloha, and Carnival Pride,

>> Seven Seas Mariner and Mariner of the Seas,

>> Seven Seas Navigator and Navigator of the Seas, and

>> Seven Seas Voyager and Voyager of the Seas.

There's no duplication and no confusion between the full names of the ships. The same is true of the other shorthand that you identified.

I know that bad habits are hard to break, but we gotta do it!

Norm.

Norm, you are forgetting the Seabourn triplets.

Why don't we make you the "name police" and you can correct everyone when they don't use the full name. I agree that there is no duplication if you use the full name. It would be smart to also use M/V or M/S as approppriate.

All in jest of course; we all know that it is far better to abbreviate on the boards to save electrons.
